Whew, I am FINALLY done posting some of these recipes I’ve been meaning to post lately! They’re all pretty fall-ish, and I really hope someone gets a small bit of inspiration from them!
So – last night was pumpkin night! Hooray! We carved our first pumpkin together (not just first married pumpkin carving, but first time carving a pumpkin together ever!). It was a lot of fun. And total teamwork at it’s finest! I drew the pattern, hubs beheaded Frankie (our pumpkin..you’ll see why in a minute!), I scooped Frank’s pumpkin guts out, Ross searched for seeds, and I roasted pumpkin seeds and the other pumpkin while Ross carved Frankie’s face in (with a drill..yes, a drill. Boys and their tools…). Then I also cleaned up/ did some detail work at the end. So we had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures from the process:
So there is our pumpkin – he is supposed to look like Frankenstein, hence the name Frank/ Frankie. Frank will go very well with another “Frank” who will make an appearance at the Trunk or Treat tonight! (Thank goodness it’s finally here…not only am I excited, but it’s beyond time to get all this candy out of the apartment!). I’ll blog about it tomorrow. Hope everyone is having as beautiful a Sunday as I am!
Love,
LC
P.S. My Nutrition and Wellness Consultant Certification course materials came today – SO excited! Can’t wait to start tomorrow!

I love it!! It came out so good. Ross looks like he was having fun with those power tools haha. Have fun tonight at Trunk or Treat and there better be lots of pictures tomorrow!
Oh my gosh…that’s so cute! I need Ross to come down here and carve my pumpkins before Friday!!!!!!!!!!
Megan – haha it’s Ross, of course he had fun carving a pumpkin w/ power tools!
Susan – try to draw (or print from the internet) a pattern of a cute face or some other design. Tape it on your pumpkin, then use a pushpin to “trace” the design into the pumpkin, then finally you can use your knife (or drill) to “connect the dots” from the pushpin! Made it so easy.
I am in LOVE with that patterned chair behind you!
miss marie – thank you! That’s the fabric for the upholstered pieces in the living room. I love it too! And you would not believe the price we got it for! We found a store going out of business and got that chair, a sofa and a loveseat for $600. We really didn’t need 3 pieces, but I couldn’t pass that up! They’re such good quality too…love it!!
