Blog About a Frog (and a Jog!)

Kids, we ain’t talkin’ about no Kermit the Frog here. My sister, Megan, just called me with one of the most disgusting food stories I’ve ever heard. She recently purchased a package of edamame. The brand is Pictsweet and apparently they have a bunch of steamable packages of veggies. Luckily she didn’t want to steam it all at once, and just wanted to use a small portion of the edamame. She opens it up and there is a DEAD FROZEN FROG SITTING IN HER EDAMAME!!! Upon further inspection (by her boyfriend, definitely not by her since she was still freaking out) the frog has no legs. Ugh, I can’t get over how disgusting this is. SO GROSS! Never buy that brand! The thing that sucks is that website has no phone number, just an email way to contact them, and who knows if they’d even call her back.

So PLEASE do not ever buy this brand of frozen veggies! Check out Megan’s blog, Per Aspera Ad Astra, to read her story of this event (check later this evening once she’s back from class and soccer practice). I have a feeling when we all reconvene for Thanksgiving we’ll be taking a trip to Whole Foods to stock her up on some real edamame and other foods. :)

Now for the blog about the jog (I love alliteration and rhyming, if you haven’t noticed lately). I successfully completed W5WO2 of C25k today. Now I need some cyber support! Saturday is when I’m scheduled for the 2 mile jog. 2 miles straight, no walking. For me, this is a big deal, I don’t know if I have ever been able to jog for 2 miles without having to stop to walk. So please y’all, say some prayers, cross your fingers, send some cyber lovin’, whatever! I am just kind of nervous/ excited about this. It’s not the 5k (yet!) but it’s definitely another milestone for me.

Time to go see if I can find something (sans froggies) for a later lunch. See you later!

groudy. You will do beautifully on your 2 mile run. If not, don’t worry about it, i find two miles harder to get through than 4. For some reason, you have to run a certain distance to really get into a rhythm that your body likes.

Oh my gosh, I just ate Pictsweet veggies a few nights ago! That is DISGUSTING! Find a way to contact that company if it’s the last thing you do! Eek!

    that frog this is gross!

you have to approach this run KNOWING you can do it — of course you can!!! dont ever let doubt enter your mind, and remember, even the slowest shuffle is NOT a walk :)

We are all still grossed out by that nasty frog! She did take pictures and we found a number for the company, so she’ll call again today (when Megan called last night the people she needed to talk to weren’t there).

And thanks so much for all the prayers, well-wishes and votes of confidence for my run tomorrow! :) It’s going to go fabulously!
