Favorite TJ’s Finds + Delivery!

Lunch today was a fresh combination of leftovers from last night. A salad with romaine, avocado, black beans, tomato, carrots, and mushrooms with a wedge of a delicious whole wheat/multi-grain baguette from Publix.

A lot of you super sweet chicks chimed in with some of your favorite Trader Joe’s items, and I thought it’d be fun to compile a list of your suggestions for everyone’s perusing pleasure.

Your Trader Joe’s Favorites:

Breads

  • TJ’s sprouted 7 grain bread (specifically in the pink and green packaging; needs to be refrigerated if keeping more than a few days)
  • Mini Pitas
  • Bagels (Everything Bagels are really good but really garlicky!)
  • Muffins (go moldy quickly)
  • English muffins
  • Tortillas (Whole Grain, Whole Wheat, Rice)
  • Corn Bread Mix

Spreads/ Dips/ Sauces/ Nut Butters

  • TJ’s Dressings (Goddess dressing, Poppyseed Dressing)
  • Preserves/ Fruit Spreads (Cran-Apple Butter, Blueberry Preserves)
  • Red Pepper Spread
  • Nut Butters (PB good, Raw Unsalted AB great and $4.99/ jar)
  • All Sauces (Curry sauces, Marinara sauce, Thai curry, etc.)
  • Salsas (Peach, Corn Chile, Double Roasted Veggie)
  • Hummus (Roasted Red Pepper, White Bean & Basil, Triple Layer, Hummus Quartet, etc.)

Snacks

  • TJ’s PB filled pretzels (there are chocolate covered ones now, too)

  • Vanilla Almond Biscotti

  • Dried fruit & Fruit Leathers (specifically unsweetened dried mango)
  • Cookies (Joe Joe’s, Cherry Oatmeal Cookies, Ginger Snaps)

Wines

  • Two Buck Chuck
  • TJ’s Honey Moon wine
  • Charles Shaw Wine

Cereals

  • Trader Joe’s Oat ‘n Wheat Bran Swirls
  • Trader O’s yogurt & berries cereal
  • Country Choice Multigrain Hot Cereal

Drinks

  • Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk ($1,99, shelf stable)
  • TJ’s brand coffee and teas (really cheap; Irish breakfast teas, green teas, mint tea)

Refrigerated/ Frozen

  • Tofu
  • TJ’s Greek Yogurt
  • Frozen Fruit
  • All Frozen Meals
  • Beef-less strips
  • Frozen Salmon Patties
  • Chicken Sausage

Meals/ Meal Staples

  • Pastas and sauces (cheap!)
  • Pilafs
  • Soups (Vegan Split Pea Soup, Tomato Red Pepper soup)
  • Madras lentil Indian meal
  • Harvest grain mix
  • Black Beans
  • Refried Pinto beans

So what do you think? Any of your favorite items left off? Agree with many of these (i.e. the peanut butter filled pretzels, Honey Moon wine, Two Buck Chuck, and all nut butters were very popular!). Feel free to keep any suggestions coming until Sunday!

As far as what I will be getting, well, you’ll just have to wait and see. :) I’m going to try to approach it as getting a few things I know I’ll need in NC (stuff for a few dinners, granola bars, trail mix, fruit, etc.), a few things I know I need in life (read: raw AB), and budget for a few “fun” finds and non-perishable items. While I know I could go crazy there, I also know that a lot of the “fun” TJ’s finds are snacky items, so I’m definitely going to be choosy. :)

Also – special shout out to Sally at Newman’s Own Organics for this lovely shipment that just arrived at my door! I plan on bringing it to NC to get many more opinions and reviews from my family, so expect a big review later on! :)

The loot:

More to come later! Remember, if you’re doing/ want to do a guest post, email it to mrslcblog at gmail.com by Saturday morning! Thank you!

    Great TJ picks!

i like the fact that the TJ baked goods mold easily. That just means they have no preservatives to them. An A+ in my book

Wow, what a great TJ's compilation! I'll have to look for some of the products I haven't noticed. Any yay for the newman's own organics products! I'm still trucking through my stash :D I really love their pretzels.

I live in a small town without a Trader Joe's. We stock up when we're out of town.

WOW – what an awesome package! I haven't tried many of the Newman's products but they look fabulous.

My favorite TJ's item is their tortilla crackers….serious deliciousness! And three huge crackers is only 90 calories!

Publix bread is so good- looks like you had a yummy lunchy

I just hit up TJ's last night – I found almond butter with sea salt. Yum! I also picked up some white bean hummus and Nuts about Raspberries and Chocolate trek mix. That place is a foodie paradise!
