On Klutziness

I wanted a repeat Mexi-themed salad from yesterday’s lunch. However I’ve had a bout of klutziness come over me.

Round 1: Salsa jar smashed to smithereens (all over my sparkling clean floor!).

Round 2: Poke myself & draw blood with glass shards. Twice.

Round 3: Drop tomato on my shirt and it leaves a mark. Darnit.

I hate when I’m klutzy like these, because not only do I make more work for myself, but I also waste food because I had to throw out my glass-strewn salsa.

Oh well. At least it was a tasty salad!

Romaine, tomato, frozen corn, last of the nonfat refried beans (whole foods brand), red pepper, a little Florida avocado (Haas reigns supreme) and some tortilla “croutons”. :)

I’ve had tons of klutzy moments throughout life – falling off a chair and spraining an ankle, falling off a bike and breaking my elbow in half (which also led to carpal tunnel), your standard burns, scrapes, scratches, and bruises. I’m forever running into things (think door frames and other inanimate objects lol). One funny klutzy/ embarrassing moment – slipped in a puddle at high school and fell with limbs akimbo and books flying everywhere. What can I say, I have a knack for attracting self-disaster. ;) I’m bound to be a life-long klutz. :)

What’s your klutziest moment ever? (Come on here, please make me feel like I’m not alone!)

I totally fell down the stairs by the anchor area my first day of high school on my way to parent pickup. My mom (and I'm sure countless others) saw the whole thing. So embarrassing.

Deliciously colorful salad! I am a complete klutz!! It's pretty sad… my grandma was coming to visit me in Charlotte and I baked some brownies for her and put them on the stovetop to cool, yeah.. the stovetop had been ON since dinner and I burnt the bottom of the brownies and the glass baking dish broke in two. Classy. haha

I guess that is more of a ditzy story than a klutzy one but I have plenty of both ;)

@Ryan – hahaha, love it! I know I had many more "incidents" at good ol' SHS. :)

@Haleigh – haha, no worries, I'm plenty ditzy and klutzy both. :)

mine was definitely when I was running in flip flops (stupid idea!) tripped and hit my face on a concrete bench. and yes, it was as bad as it sounds. I broke my nose. I felt like a goon explaining how it happened :)

ah! i can totally relate, 2 times in the past 3 months. 1: dropped a whole jar of pickles, 2: a whole cotco sized container of frozen blueberries spilled on the floor (think marbles) and worst yet 3: a whole brand new bottle of vanilla from mexico shattered on the floor!

Sorry about your broken jar, but that salad looks awesome!!

My klutziest moment: I was running on the treadmill in the basement of my parent's house one time when I was in high school and I had the phone or water or something in the bottle holder on the TM, but it was rattling around and making noise so I took it out and bent down to put it on the ground, while I was still running! Needless to say I fell, slammed my knee off the treadmill belt and busted it open, and flew off the end of the treadmill into the wall behind me!! I still have a scar from that one!

Sad! That would be discouraging after you spent all that time on your floors!!

Buuuut I'm happy you still made that delicious and beautiful looking ensalada : )

    Oh that stinks! I'm sorry!

I fell down the flight of stairs at the movie theater so I was lying on my back looking up at everyone walking down. The person I was with pretended not to know me and said "Ma'am are you ok??" Completely embarrassing!

I share your klutziness. Major klutz here! Seriously, it's a miracle if I can get through a meal without dropping something on my shirt. Must work on learning how to insert food in mouth and not on chest…lol ;)

Hope your day of opps gets better love!

I am the biggest klutz! Seriously, it's bad. I drop things and spill things in the kitchen all the time! But my worst klutzy moment had to be my first day of college at UCF. I had spent so much time getting ready and I was strutting across the crosswalk (convinced that every car waiting was filled with ridiculously cute frat boys who were dying to meet a freshman like me) and then tripped and fell flat on my face in the middle of the road, books went flying, purse contents flew across the road and everyone around started laughing and honking their cars. I was MORTIFIED. Luckily, that campus is so big I doubt I ever saw any of them again in the next 4 years. LOL

Becka – hahaha that's hilarious, happens to the best of us. :)

Did you hear that UCF is now the 3rd biggest campus in the nation? And it's definitely beat out UF for biggest FL college. Crazy! Maybe UCF gave me my complex where I don't like being in crowded areas swarming with people. *shudders*
