Isn’t my mom simply gorgeous?? Doesn’t she look like she could be my older sister? I’ve got good genes.

This morning started out with a simple breakfast for my tender tummy – two slices of plain cinnamon raisin swirl toast.

Then we headed off to go grocery shopping!! (Wow, weirdo alert for the !! about grocery shopping). I headed over to Ward’s Supermarket for the first time this morning – love it! I love the prices. Once I get my new food processor back I’ll be able to make homemade almond butter for cheap again – raw almonds from the bins were $4.99/ lb! Plus they also feature a lot of local goods – so exciting.

We also hit up Fresh Market and Publix on our way back, to maximize the deals.

One thing I definitely noticed – by getting some “convenience items” (i.e. cereals, tortilla chips, a couple frozen burritos, hummus, deli meat for Ross, a loaf of sourdough bread, black bean dip), even with sales, our bill rose about $20.

This just goes to show that I really need to take pride in making things “homemade” – breads, dips, hummus, etc. Even making my own granola can substitute for cereal. Anyway, just thoughts on food + budget.

This was such a tasty lunch! And I have to say – I loved being able to make and enjoy lunch together with Ross. I love weekends. Off to go work on the home some more and pray for no rain so we can enjoy our planned afternoon adventure! See you later.
