Unwelcome at Moe’s

Hey friends! I hope everyone’s Saturday is going well. Seems to be a lot of college-football lovin’ going on this weekend. :)

Hubby and I slept in this morning! We’ve been sleeping awful all week, so last night we crashed hard, and got a solid 8 hours of sleep. So refreshing!

Breakfast was a softball-sized peach with the bruised parts cut out. I love peaches. :)

My mom and I had fun this morning, and we went on a mother-daughter date to the farmer’s market and Whole Foods downtown. The market was hot and busy, and we really didn’t get that much – just some fresh spinach and some bell peppers. Whole Foods was a different story. :) I got some basics, and a couple special things. (You can bet a vegan chocolate chip cookie was amongst the special things). You’ll see more in the days ahead. :)

For lunch my family headed to Moe’s. The original option was Firehouse Subs, but then when my sister asked, “What do you eat when you go out?” the option changed to Moe’s, a place where I could get a more well-rounded vegan meal. I love my family. :)

I asked for a Joey Junior, with no meat or cheese, and politely asked if I could sub guacamole for meat. The chick told me no, that was a different kind of burrito. I ended up having to pay MORE for a burrito that had guac on it, even though I didn’t get the meat, cheese, or sour cream. My meat and cheese-less burrito was more expensive than family members who had the same thing with meat and cheese and no guac. I’m sorry, but Moe’s – this is ridiculous. So much for “Welcome to Moe’s” – rather unwelcoming, in my opinion.

Alright, well I’m off to chill and get in a treadmill workout at some point this afternoon. Dinner should be fun tonight – something I have not tried to make a vegan version of yet, although I don’t imagine it to be too daunting. :) Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Aw, sorry about Moe's :( I once ordered a BLT minus the mayo and bacon and my sandwich ended up being more than my co-worker's club sandwich. It's so annoying! However, a WFs vegan cookie?! Exxxxxcellent :)

I hate when people aren't accommodating. Hello people… it's called CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

At least you got some good zz's and had a fun shopping trip!

I know! It's so depressing that the bag of gigantic chips is 1000x cheaper than the the bag of organic apples. Ugh, why do we live in a country that enforces the $1 menu and biggie size me for just pennies but when you want something fresh or healthy, you have to seriously pay for it?

Sad, but I guess that's just what we have to deal with.

But, aside from the crummy Moe's experience, at least you had a great day shopping with mom

    Yay for sleeping in!

And what an annoying thing with Moe's. I get so frustrated when ordering out and getting ripped off like that. It's wrong!

I'm sorry about the Moe's experience. I've never eaten there, but my fiance has. I can't believe they were so unaccomodating!
I love any kind of shopping with my mom, always a good time!

Ugh, I hate it when places do that. I'd actually been thinking about trying Moe's again but I think I will pass. I know may just have been unique to your location but still, why bother.
