Movie Sunday

Ross and I are all about the cheap entertainment, and today was just that. Movies! We started out with Wolverine, then watched Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and also caught part of 50 First Dates that was on tv. We were both working on stuff while the movies were going, but it was still fun and relaxing. Perfect too, since I’ve been so tired today! Part way through Ghosts of Girlfriends Past we snacked on some leftover vegan stuffed mushrooms and vegan spinach “sausage” bread from last night.

Dinner was very low-key since I didn’t feel like making what was on the menu (an eggplant “lasagna”/ rollatini). I had some lentil soup with french bread and leftover asparagus.

I know whole grains are superior in nutrition to white flour, and generally I have a huge preference for whole grains. Occasionally though, you just can’t beat a good, doughy French or Cuban bread. :)

We’ll also be enjoying the dessert from last night that we never got around to sampling. One of my all-time favorites: chocolate covered strawberries!

What I used for the vegan chocolate is Ghiradelli’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (this is also the chip I use in my vegan chocolate chip cookies). Make sure you get the semi-sweet though, because the 60% Cacao Chips contain milk. Whole Foods also has a vegan chocolate chip, but at least at my grocery store the Ghiradelli’s is easily available and also cheaper (around $2.99/bag) compared to WF (around $3.39 I believe).

Overall my weekend has been good, but relatively uneventful. My body has been incredibly tired, which is why I chose to listen to it today and just lay low. What did you do this weekend?

G’night!
