The Princess and the Roach

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess. Every day she bid goodbye to her prince as he went off to carry out official kingdom and castle business. Most days the princess happily went about her mornings, crossing things off her beloved to do lists.

One particular fall morning, the princess was in the royal kitchen whipping up a batch of tropical granola. She peered into the royal living room, and what did she see but a big, bad ROACH!

The princess shrieked, and not with delight, but because she was startled with such a fright. Praying the stupid bully would stay, she hailed her carriage and was off and away! She tore through the village ’til she reached the royal mart, where she found the one thing she knew would make the roach depart.

Operation Kill was full underway, and the princess hurried home while praying the despised didn’t hide away. Our princess was in luck, as when she bolted through the door, the first thing she saw was the roach on the ceiling! (I know, floor would’ve rhymed but I have to stay legit here!) With a quick re-arrangement of the castle furniture, the princess became armed and poised herself for attack.

Covering her mouth with her princess gown’s blouse, the princess attacked with her magic potion spray. She sprayed and she sprayed and she sprayed a bit more, until the nasty old roach fell withering to the floor. The darn thing still moved, and crawled away, so the silly princess kept spraying away. Unfortunately our ending is unsure, as the wily roach crawled behind the royal tv.

With the castle in need of a good fumigating, and herself feeling skeeved, the princess grabbed her necessities and retreated to her tower. She tried to console herself that the villain was dead, while enjoying her lunch on top of her bed.

Still feeling in need of more satisfaction, our princess dashed out to retrieve her reward. A first of the season honey crisp at its finest, with sweet cinnamon and almond butter.

Unfortunately for our princess, she’s a weak scaredy cat, so our sweet silly girl shall stay locked in her tower. Lucky for her she has a brave, handsome prince who will later be home to save the castle and his princess. :)

The End.
