So, how has your Ocotber 1st gone? It’s been pretty swell over here. Some highlights:
- This here new site. (Duh).
- Twitter. What on earth took me so long??
- TweetDeck. Oh lawdy…you are amazing and addictive.
- New Insurance for me!
- Still beautiful weather in my neck of the woods.
I got hungry mid-afternoon so I had my baby snowman mug full of Quaker Oatmeal Squares (aka crack) with soymilk.

I know he’s a snowman, but it’s just the cutest, tiniest mug! It fits in the palm of my hand – perfect for snackage.
After hemming and hawing about going to the gym I had the realization around 5:30 that today was October 1st. I mean, I knew it was October 1st, but I forgot about that big first of the month thing – rent! So I discovered a first of the month workout motivation: pay rent and stop by the apartment gym! I walked to the office, handed over my check, and one minute later I was on the elliptical for 30 minutes level 7. I love the elliptical because I can go fast and really pound it out and not experience severe pain in my right knee afterwards. There’s nothing like getting good and sweaty!
Dinner wasn’t the most interesting thing ever, but I was working with limited produce. Plus I was flying solo for dinner (Ross literally just walked in the door) and I hate to say it, but I’m just not nearly as creative when I don’t have someone else to enjoy the meal with. So I had a salad (romaine, salsa, corn, avocado, nonfat refried beans and blue corn chip crumbs) and a whole wheat tortilla (fold it like so and toast it – it’s crisp on the outside and warm and soft on the inside!).

Not the most exciting thing, but nutritious and it did the job.

Wow, I love your new blog! It looks awesome
The snowman mug is too adorable. Funny, I used a snowman mug for my coffee this morning!
That dinner looks nice though. We don’t always have to have super elaborate meals. Sometimes simple is just as good!
And that snowman is definitely cute!
Thanks for the blog comment!! You salad looks delicious! I agree with you-when I don’t have someone to eat with, my dinners are less creative.
That “taco salad” doesn’t look boring. Looks pretty good from where
I am sitting.
I LOVE blue corn chips. We go through multiple bags a week. I seriously just had some for breakfast. I have a problem.
Thanks for commenting on my blog – your site looks great and so does the salad!
i definitely eat differently when i’m eating alone… and yikes, you just reminded me that we haven’t paid rent!
I think your salad looks FANTASTIC! Salads are so versatile they can’t be boring
I have a snowman mug similar to that but it’s a bit taller – tis the season!
That salad is far from boring and I love your tortilla folding idea!
Crack again…you said it. I’ve been buying it too lately. LOVE the flippin stuff! I was eating it dry (one my fave ways to eat it) last night at 930 before I went to bed. Maybe I should quit buying it
