In Sickness and In Health

Bad news bears, Ross is actually pretty sick! He passed out around 1:30 with a 99.9 temp, and then after sleeping 6.5 hours straight, I check on him and he had a 103.3 fever! Agh! It was a little worrisome and stressful for a bit there (anything over 104 and I was going to take him to the E.R.) but with more meds, more sleep, and some ice chips, his temp has slowly been coming down. Thank goodness! Regardless, I’m still attacking everything with Lysol, downing vitamins and sleeping on the couch tonight. That and we will be heading over to the closest walk-in clinic tomorrow morning to get him this flu pill pack so he’ll get rid of this nastiness sooner. I have to say though – praise God our new insurance started Thursday! Just a little example of provision. :)

Predictably, my small “lunch” didn’t hold me over well, so I snacked on a honeycrisp apple with almond butter and cinnamon.

Dinner was really boring and in a rush, because I was heading out to get more meds, keeping an eye on Ross’ temp and just generally not focusing on a creative dinner. Lentil soup from a can with a whole wheat english muffin and smart balance.

Now that Ross is asleep again, I’m feeling a little lonely and bored (and like it’s going to be a long night) so I just made myself a little treat. I bookmarked this recipe for a single-serving vegan brownie a while ago and tonight was the night to try it!

As soon as I hit Publish I’ll be digging into this, and probably a glass of soymilk, too. :)

Time to go fulfill the “in sickness” part of my vows! ;)

I want that brownie! More ingredients I need to buy, although I’ll probably make this with carob chips and see how that turns out. Carob has iron and I need to find ways to get iron!

    Hope Ross feels better :(

Awww poor Ross! I know how he feels. That was me and my hubby last weekend. We were both tied up on the couch with the flu….definitely STINKS big time, but thankfully, this little bug just seems to be a 48 hour thing. Ross should be feeling much better today, but just keep an eye on him.

You’re a great wife to take such good care of him! ;)

Have a great and beautiful Sunday my dear.

I don’t wanna jinx it, but maybe it’s that nasty flu everyone’s been talking about lately…

Your dinner looks really good! What brand of soup is that?

haha Progresso! They had soup really cheap and this was the 99% fat free lentil soup. It has such a great flavor, decent nutritional stats (minus sodium, but all canned soups have high sodium) and is vegan! One of my favorite canned soups. :)
