Airborne

If you’ve caught any of my posts or twitter updates from this weekend you are well aware that germs are definitely airborne in our home this weekend. With Ross spiking a fever again today and myself coughing frequently and knowing my immune system isn’t as strong as normal at the moment, I turned to my number one sickness preventative: airborne.

Airborne is basically a highly concentrated vitamin tablet that you let fizz away in a glass of water. Word to the wise – if you have never tried it, Pink Grapefruit is surprisingly by far the best flavor. I first discovered this in college when getting sick was literally detrimental to my studies — ever trying playing a flute when you’re coughing up a lung or so stuffed up you can’t breathe? Doesn’t work out so well.

Airborne isn’t really effective if you’re already sick, but if you feel something coming on it’s always worked for me. I always keep some on hand now!

I chugged a glass after doing a 30 minute interval workout on the stair master at the gym.

Now at the gym, I was thinking how I should make a nutrient rich salad, with spinach, oranges, almonds, chickpeas and more for dinner. However, all I really wanted was a nice big bowl of comfort food – pumpkin oats!

So glad I went with the oats. I felt like I was eating dessert for dinner! I used:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup each vanilla rice milk and water
  • touch of maple syrup
  • couple drops of vanilla extract
  • tablespoon of almond butter
  • tablespoon of ground flax
  • 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree (!!)
  • loads of cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice
  • top with more cinn. and P.P. spice and pepitas (raw pumpkin seeds)

Mmm so delicious. Every spoonful was like a fluffy bite of pumpkin mousse. Plus with all that pumpkin in there, it’s so voluminous. As of yet I haven’t been able to finish it!

It’s not the most well-rounded dinner I’ve ever had, but it was all I wanted and it was quite delicious. :)

I hope everyone has a great start to the week tomorrow! Good night, friends. :)

This was our home last week. Both of us were sick so I spent the entire weekend cleaning the house to disinfect from all the germs we left behind.

Hope your home feels better soon!

Pumpkin oats are so sensantional. It’s been too long, hasn;t it? ;)

My problem is I can’t get the pumpkin puree into the oats. I end up eating it plain! It’s a serious addiction!

I SWEAR by Airbourne! A lot of people say it’s just the placebo affect, but I feel the same way as you. Everytime I feel a sickness coming on, I just slam a bunch of Airbourne and it usually gets it early!

No good that Ross’s fever is back. I hope he is on the mend soon and that the Airborn keeps you from coming down with anything!

Awwe, honey I’m sorry Ross still isn’t up to par :-( I hope the sick germs leave your house soon and everything gets back to normal. And hopefully without you having to get sick in the process!
