Starbucks Free Sample

Good morning afternoon! This morning was a tad busy because I finally convinced Ross that since he still has a fever, he really needed to go see a doctor and get a prescription. Before we left I grabbed a small bit of homemade Tropical Granola with vanilla rice milk.

I also decided that I needed to arm myself with Starbucks before taking Ross to the dr. I had only planned on getting a Grande Soy Chai Latte, but look what I ended up with!

They were serving samples of their new Via instant coffee, but they had mixed it with milk and chocolate. I politely told the girl it sounded wonderful, but declined saying I was a vegan. Well the sweet girl offered to make me my own sample with soymilk! Who am I to turned down free? I was expecting one of the little sample cups with 1-2 T. of liquid, but she brought me the clear cup you see above – and it was definitely half full when she gave it to me. :) (Saving the rest for later).

I also bought a box of Tazo Iced Passion Fruit Tea Bags for only $2.99. It’s seriously one of my favorite flavors of their tea, and I grabbed it when I saw it! What a steal.

Thank you Starbucks for making my morning more positive. :) Unfortunately after this my germaphobic self freaked out at the health clinic (LOL I had to leave, I couldn’t handle it) and then freaked out at Walgreens when I spent WAY too much money on prescriptions. Stay healthy folks, getting sick is budget-busting!

I am just now eating lunch, and it’s super tasty. :) All warmed up, stir fry style I combined broccoli slaw, spinach, garbanzo beans, avocado, black olives, sesame seeds and a little bit of Whole Foods Sesame Ginger Sauce. Love all the vegetables!

Alright folks, I have to go reunite with my BFF Lysol – time to scrub this place down! Ciao!

Just think of all the vitamins and antioxidants are in your bowl of vegs!! That should help ward off the sick. I just did a post on swine flu on my blog…if people are worried/trying to prevent it.

Love nice Starbucks baristas; they’re sort of a rarity in the city haha. Your lunch looks delish!

I totally feel you on the ER situation. My SIL is a total hypochondriac and last winter she made me go sit with her in the ER because she thought she had a blood clot (for like the 89th time) and I ended up with the worst flu of my life! I was MAD! Now I require proof of illness before hitting up germ-infested waiting rooms.

That was awesome that the girl gave you such a big sample. I went this weekend but it was super busy and I guess I looked too young/like I wouldn’t spend copious amounts of money and they didn’t offer me one. They offered one to the old dude behind me though.

Wow, that comment was a big negative eh? Sorry about that! I hope the (expensivo) meds fix Ross right up and that sickness leaves the SoundEats household ASAP! Have a good rest of your Monday :)

I am such a fan of preventative medicine… Health care is so expensive!! I hate going to the Dr even when I’m sick because it ends up being so costly. Ridiculous. I don’t know what the solution is, but health care in this country needs a serious revamping.

    Enjoy your Lysol-ing :)

Your lunch looks delicious! I’ve never tried the sesame giner sauce, but it sounds good… I may have to go to Whole Foods in search of it.

I’ll also be on the lookout for that sauce at WF. They were sampling Via at my Starbucks, but the tasting area was packed..I hope to try some soon.

What a sweetie, that gal at SBux! I’m jealous, we have no Starbucks up here in Northern Mi. Lots of great lil local places, but NO PUMPKIN SPICE to be found anywhere. Tears.

    Stir fry look ahhhh-mazin!

I find it weird that they would give out a sample with milk and chocolate in it, but I’m glad they accomodated you, nonetheless. I’ve made the VIA at home and I really like it, it’s convenient but way too expensive so I doubt I’ll continue this trend :)
