“They” say that when Eve bit the apple in the Garden of Eden that it may not have been an apple at all. More scholars are actually thinking it may have been a pomegranate! (Finally utilizing my religious studies minor!) As much as I love apples, I may have to side with Even on this one, as pomegranates are way more temping to me.
You can imagine my glee when I received an email from POM Wonderful a while back telling me to be on the look out for a surprise they were sending me. Well I finally got that surprise! Yesterday our apartment office called to say there was a package that had been in the office fridge for a long time, and they had forgotten to let us know. Thank goodness they kept it refrigerated! I opened it up to find two new flavors of POM juice that will be hitting the shelves later this month – Pomegranate Kiwi and Pomegranate Nectarine.

After sampling both of them Ross and I both love them! The kiwi was honestly a lot better than I was expecting (I usually associate kiwi flavors with really bad artificial flavors). This worked well. There was a tiny bit of an aftertaste on your tongue, but similar to how a kiwi can kind of tickle your tongue as you’re eating it. The Pomegranate Nectarine was sheer magic. I really, really loved it. It was fairly sweet though, so I’m really looking forward to pairing it with some seltzer water (it’ll make it last longer that way, too!).
Overall? Two thumbs up and go ahead and try it when you see it on your grocer’s shelves!
Now, as delicious as our juice sampling was dinner was rather boring. Ross enthusiastically suggested doing an Iron Chef: Oatmeal for dinner, but by the time we were ready for dinner it was later I was zapped of creativity! I had some Progresso Lentil Soup with some Publix multigrain bread on the side.

Nothing extraordinary, just rather ordinary.
It worked out well because I was rather low for my protein intake today, and there was definitely more protein in this lentil soup than there would have been in my oatmeal.
Now it’s time to sit back, relax and maybe make some pumpkin oatmeal as a dessert. Good night!

Soup + bread = Perfect Fall Dinner
I love the juices as well, especially the nectarine, which I am drinking as I type with rum.
mmm tasty!!
It is definitely soup and bread weather where I’m at! That POM juice sounds awesome, I need to get some
i got those pom juices the other day! i still have yet to try them; i can’t wait!!!
Progresso lentil will be making many appearances while the kitchen is out of commission. It’s such a great, protein-packed canned soup!
Those juices sound really good! I love that they aren’t typical flavors!
Mm, those sound like really yum, unusual flavors!
Love the fun fact about Eve – I didn’t know that! The POM flavors sound…er…”wonderful”
Can’t help myself.
Have a lovely Friday!
Glad to hear those juices are good! I’ve been looking for them.
