Classic Date Night

Hey hey peeps! This afternoon was muy lazy, but I capped it off with an awful 30 minute “run” a minute/ walk a minute sesh plus some ab work. It was better than nothing, but dang…this girl needs to stretch more, specifically her calves. I was mostly doing the shuffle tonight, and I ain’t talkin’ about the cupid shuffle.

Anywho, hitting up the apartment gym for strength was a bust because it was monopolized by grown men yelling at the Gator game on TV. Gentlemen, you’re grown adults, please tell me why you think screaming at a television in a semi-public area will make the Gators play better? So I ditched it. :)

All’s well though, I got all dolled up for a classic, casual date night with the hubs – dinner and a movie! We had free tickets to a movie theater so we wanted to hit up dinner semi-close by. We chose BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Northerners, I’m sure you’ll get a kick out of this – it was in the low-sixties and they broke out the space heaters outside.

Don’t worry, your Connecticut-born girl was out there in short sleeves laughing at all the Floridians whining about not being close enough to the heaters. :)

While waiting for our food Ross and I “shared” a pint of BJ’s Pumpkin Ale (share = me downing most of it because apparently I’m more of an alchy than the hubs). Sorry for the awful lighting, this was the point-and-shoot camera and it was outside at night!

For our dinner Ross and I split their Vegetarian pizza with a few substitutions (tip: ask the server if it’s ok to make a couple substitutions…they can’t really say no, and it warms them up to you and gives them fair warning). No cheese (obviously) and subbed roasted peppers for green peppers and sweet basil for white onion.

I have to say – as much of a carb lover that I may be, this pizza was too much! And the dough was so greasy with oil (no butter, checked online beforehand and it’s vegan). Yuck. I still feel like a blotation device.

It’s ok though, all’s well that ends well and our night ended well! We saw Couple’s Retreat and oh.my.gosh. Hilarious. I’ll totally rent it again when it comes out in Redbox/ Blockbuster Express. And for any of you who have seen it – how freaking adorable was the little blonde kid? He made the movie. He single-handedly warmed me up to having kids one day. ;)

Alright chiquitas, it is past my bedtime! Again, I’m super sorry about the poor quality pics from tonight! I included them anyway because I figured something is better than nothing!

Nighty, night!

I’m glad you had a good date night, even if the food wasn’t all that.

Aww, I’m glad you had a great night! Haha, I’m with you– all the native Arizonians are always FREEZING in the nights and mornings when it’s in the 60′s. They’re in jackets and pants while I’m in shorts and a t-shirt. haha!
