Thank you for all of your congratulations about my new job! I must say, I was such a happy little dork over my “I got a job” cookies and I’m glad you all liked them, too.

Now as promised, some details about the job.
I will be working part time for a homeless clinic where my official title is “Program Assistant”. It’s a great part time position, with awesome hours (and pretty good pay for part-time, non-profit!). Mondays and Thursdays (clinic days) I will be working noon-8pm setting up the clinic and working at the clinic, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays (office days) I will be working around 9-1/ 9:30-1:30 doing more office/ administrative work. So with two free mornings, two free afternoons, Fridays free and weekends free (and holidays of course), I have plenty of time to pursue other part time opportunities and/ or head back to school for some classes if I choose.
I’m really excited about this opportunity. While it is “just” a part time job, it’s perfect for me right now. It’s with an organization doing some work that me and my big ol’ heart can be proud to be a part of. The organization is growing a lot, too, so there are possibilities in the future for my job growing as well.
I start training on November 9th and officially start November 19th. (My Novemeber just got a LOT more exciting!)
I am so thankful to finally have a job. I am very excited (and a little nervous) to start and become a working woman again! I wonder if I remember how to be a real-life working grown up?
Thank you again for your well wishes. Your positivity rocks and brings such a huge smile to my face.
In other news, Happy National Oatmeal Day! I found out about the holiday from a sweet friend, so I decided to celebrate in style with pumpkin oats.

- 1/3 cup oats, almond milk, water
- LOTS of pumpkin (probably around 2/3 c. – 1 c.)
- cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice
- ground golden flax
- spoonful of peanut butter (almond butter is by far superior)
- pepitas on top
My oats blend in with the locals.
I joke with Ross that we need to invest in a piece of Gator gear each, so when we go out (especially on game days) we can look like we actually belong here.
I’ll end with a few reminders:
- Don’t forget to get your BSI Dried Fruit submissions in by Sunday!
- Remember to check out the Give and Feel Good Challenge. I already know what I’m doing for someone today.
- Thank you for voting! GOOD NEWS for the GOOD MOOD: the voting actually goes through November 6, 2009 11:59:59 PM EST (next Friday basically). So we have more time! The top 20 is still possible so please keep voting and get your friends to vote too! Vote for these girls, too! All for one and one for all!

Again, congrats about the job! That sounds awesome and it’s a great opportunity for you. You’ll get used to being a grown up again
We don’t have a oatmeal day here, I think. It’s 2pm here and I didn’t have oatmeal today, but maybe tomorrow for breakfast…

Congratulations! Are you working at the St. Francis House? That’s the homeless shelter I remember from when I lived in Gainesville. You should definitely get a Gator shirt because it’s great to be a Florida Gator!
No, it’s not a homeless shelter/ not the St. Francis House but a homeless clinic (we set up medical clinics for homeless twice a week).
Not so sure about the Gator shirt…we’re not real Gator fans.
