Happy Halloween friends! Sorry for no post last night or this morning. We drove to Sarasota last night and got in rather late, and I just got back from being out and about all day today! So let’s rewind a bit, shall we?
I know my main purpose of this blog is to share how easy it can be to be a vegan. And while I firmly believe you can easily be a vegan, there are occasionally moments where being a vegan can be frustrating. Last night was one of those occasions.
Since we were headed on the road we wanted to pick dinner up on the way. Option 1 was out because we knew we’d be heading there today at some point. Option 2 was out because they closed early. Option 3 was out because it was more expensive and we were looking for cheap. So that left Subway. And I just did not want Subway. I had just went for a run where I pushed myself to run faster in 20 minutes than I had in a long time. It was late. I was cranky and hungry. And I knew a nearly protein-less sub of bread and vegetables would not be satisfying. So my on the road dinner (with terrible pictures) was a 6 inch honey eat sub with a little sweet onion sauce, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green bell pepper and black olives.

I also “split” a bag of Sunchips with Ross, but I was so starving I think the splitting became Ross just had a few.

Once we arrived in Sarasota we crashed pretty hard. Breakfast this morning was light and quite a delight! My mom found Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin Bread on sale for half off, so I enjoyed a slice…

…with some of this delicious pumpkin butter from a nearby Amish Farmer’s Market store that just opened up.(which you’ll be seeing more of, since I just bought some today to take home with me).

My mom and I then hit up one of my favorite foodie places on this earth…Whole Foods!

Some loot: Enjoy Life Boom Choco Boom bar, mango, avocado, organic pears (3 lbs for $2.99!), vegan chocolate chip cookies (2!), raw agave, spinach pasta, Honest Tea, chocolate grahams, whole wheat pastry flour, fat free refried beans, and some unpictured Coconut Yogurt (on sale 2/$3) and vegan cheese for pizza tonight.
Lunch was out at Moe’s and would you believed that I pulled blogging rookie mistake number 1 and forgot to take a picture? Gah! I hate a junior art vandelay (black beans, guac, rice, fajita veggies, salsa, lettuce, cilantro, and black olives). Yum! I had never been offered the fajita veggies with the art vandelay before, but I loved the addition!
Post-lunch we made some stops at Total Wine (got a pumpkin beer for tonight!), Target (halloween candy for kids), Marshalls (new work pants), and another Amish store for a “congrats on your new job” new Vera Bradley purse present from my parents. Love it! I’ll have to show you later.
Time to boogy! More errands fun things to do, catch ya later!

I’m a new vegan and I am just in a food rut! I find it hard to blog about my eats when every day is the same I’m ready to branch out. Where do you find your recipes etc.? I want to start a challenge to try so many new meals a week so I can get out of my food rut that I’m in. Makes me an uninspired blogger
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Fun day! I need to try that Cinnamon Raisin Ezekial bread…it looks delish! Do you have plans tonight? Ev and I might hang out with Stefan Grabhofer because he is in town too! Let me know via text
Sounds like a splendid day with your mom in lovely srq. Can’t wait to see your new purse… I know exactly where you got it…

Ry- give Stefan a big hug for me. !
Yeah, subway veggie subs are not the most filling (or even the most tasty) things in the world. But at least you got some awesome WF goodness
