We made it safely to Orlando! Before we got on our way we made a quick pit stop at Pita Pit. Apparently even though they “offer” whole wheat pitas they no longer carry them because they’re too hard to wrap up (which is silly, because their white ones always break on me, too).

I had a pita with hummus, avocado, spinach, tomato, bell pepper, cucumber, sprouts, and lots of black olives.

Once we got in we picked up my sister-in-law (Jordan) and headed over to an old favorite that I haven’t been to in ages: Jeremiah’s!

The first time I ever tried Jeremiah’s was way back before Ross and I were even dating. I think it was one Sunday evening when a few of us carpooled to an evening church together. They all wanted to stop at this place and get this weird Italian Ice and soft serve combo…whatever, I tried it and it was actually not bad! And if memory recalls, Ross treated the whole group. What a guy. ;)

Tonight’s visit was a little different than my first. I asked the girl which flavors had dairy and she ruled out scoop froggy frog (mint chip) italian ice and chocolate italian ice. I ask if her if I could try a sample of the pumpkin Italian ice. Literally, RIGHT after I sample the pumpkin italian ice she goes, “oh yeah, I think the pumpkin has dairy too. Yeah, it has milk”. Well GREAT! I mean, I feel fine now (it was such a miniscule amount) but it just irritated me that my “record” was dashed by an employee’s memory slip.(Note to Jeremiah’s: this is why you should list ingredients of your Italian ices on your website!!)

Anyway, I settled for a coconut Italian ice, which she assured me didn’t have dairy, only coconut milk. I think by “coconut milk”  they mean that super thick, concentrated, sugary sweet Pina colada coconut milk mix. It was ok, but a little much on the sugar content for me. And honestly, I’m not sure it was vegan – I’m gchatting with Ryan now, and apparently she’s been told it has milk in it before. Who knows. My stomach doesn’t feel off, so I think it was probably just coconut milk.

When I came home I added a small square of chocolate from a Godiva vegan super dark chocolate with almonds bar. It actually made it a lot better. The bitterness of the chocolate cut through the super sweet coconut nicely. Kind of tasted like an Italian ice Mounds Bar. :)

On that note, it is time for bed! It’s been a long day and Ross has passed out, which is my clue that it’s bedtime. I’m excited for tomorrow, it should be a fun and busy day.

Sleep tight bloggies. :)

Oh, I hate it when the employees don’t even know what’s in the stuff! I don’t think it counts as breaking your record when you asked first and they misinformed you.

I think it’s super unprofessional when the employees don’t know what’s in their food. Glad you had a good night despite that little accident!

Yeah I hate when restaurants make it so hard to find out stuff like that. The pita looks good!
