Missing Megan

My sister left this afternoon and I miss her already! :( One day we HAVE to live next to each other, Megan!

Last night we watched My Sister’s Keeper (great!) and G.I.Joe (absurdly cheesy) and I made some of my vegan chocolate chip cookies to share with all. Ryan, Ashley, and Katy recently tested the recipe out for me – ladies, this is what they’re supposed to look like, and this is why silicone baking sheets should be a must in every baker’s supply closet! ;)

This morning was absolutely glorious. The perfect morning and way to wake up in my book. We live in a shaded area, so it’s never very bright anyway. However this morning our windows were open and we could hear the rainly gently falling outside – so ideal. The crazy thing was that I didn’t wake up until 10:00! Definitely a new record for me, I never sleep that late! We feasted on multigrain bagels (I had pumpkin butter and apple butter on mine) and I also sipped on part of a cup of coffee with coconut creamer.

The mug has one of my favorite verses on the inside: “I found the one my heart loves” – Song of Solomon 3:4 NIV

After breakfast it was workout time!

  • Stair Master, intervals, level 3, 30 minutes
  • arm curls – biceps (35 lbs, 3×10)
  • shoulder press (25 lbs, 3×10)
  • tricep press (80 lbs, 3×10)
  • chest press (70 lbs, 3×10)
  • butterfly (30 lbs, 3×10)
  • low sitting row (60 lbs, 2×10)
  • stability ball crunches, 100
  • standing oblique flexions (20 lbs, 4×15 per side)

After showering and such, I snacked on a few multigrain pita chips and carrots with hummus. Later in the afternoon before errands I also had a cup of boring cereal (Crispix?) with almond milk.

After some fun errands we came home to dinner. Steamed broccoli, sweet potato fries and leftover baked beans.

So many sweet potato fries, and that was just half a sweet potato! And would you believe that according to the package of frozen broccoli  what you see is probably close to three servings?? I laughed when I read the serving size was 4 florets. Seriously?? That is NOT a serving of vegetables!

Now I’m off to actually send off Christmas lists this time (I’m awful – there’s really just not much that I want!) and finalize my contributions to Thanksgiving dinner. I’ll post what I’ll be making tomorrow!

How was your weekend?

I looked at my bag of broc and I always eat half of the bag at a time. The serving sizes are way too small!

Awww, sorry your sis has left but it sounds like it was a great weekend.

I JUST used my mug!!! My friend came over for dinner and we enjoyed our coffee out of them. She LOVED them too and we both were gushing over that verse. I love them and I totally owe owning these to you! (It’s where I first saw them!)

    Have a great night sweetheart!

I never saw My Sister’s Keeper but I loved the book. Saying good-bye to family is always hard! I’m looking forward to see my sister (and the rest of my family) for Thanksgiving . . . though not looking forward to crazy crowded airports!

I always get bummed when family leaves! I know how you feel. :( Hopefully you will get to see her soon. Oh and PS I OWN SILICONE SHEETS! You’re ruining my rep as a baking lover. I just didn’t bring them, although that would have been a fab idea! ;)

Crispix isn’t boring.. I love that cereal!

Those sweet potato fries look delicious. I’m sure they taste way better than regular fries.

Haha.. 4 florets = one serving… no way.
