Good morning! Busy over the weekend and miss some posts? Check out what I was up to!
- I made Chocolate 3 C Cookies
- I came up with the idea of a Health Bloggers Database and so far the feedback has only been good!
- I showed one way to please both the omnivorous and carnivorous palates in your house with His and Hers Pizzas.
- I made a Vegan Coffee Cake!
- Ross and I finally started our Christmas shopping and went to a Christmas Pops Concert!
My busy spree continues over to today as I’ve already been working on getting things done, and it’s just after 8:00! I stuck with the fastest and easiest breakfast I know – Crispix cereal with plain almond milk.
I’m working on a whole Frugal Holiday Gift List with all sorts of fun gift ideas I’ve found under $10, under $25, etc. Some gifts I can’t even believe are on the list! While I’m wrapping that up, I wanted to leave you with another tip in the meantime.
Frugal Holiday Tip #4
Take a cash allotment out for your gifts and only use that. Put the credit cards away. When you have the thought in the back of your head, “oh I can just pay it off later” you are generating debt for yourself. As much as your loved ones would love that perfect gift, I would bet my bottom dollar that they would love you not getting into debt on their account more. If you have to use a debit or credit card, be sure to keep careful track of what you’re spending. I loved this free printable holiday gift list from Colored Me Inspired that you can keep track of your budget and what you actually spent for each person.
One other bonus to using cash for your gifts? If you’re like my husband and myself, all of our financial accounts are joint. If I were to order his Christmas present today from Bob’s Boathouse and slap it on the credit card, Ross would be able to see it appear on our online statement in a matter of days. Keep the charm of Christmas and surprise gifts by using cash.
P.S. Bob’s Boathouse is a completely made up entity. Don’t worry Ross, your gift(s) won’t be coming from there.

Great tips!
Love this tip! This is the first year I have bought everything with cash! I usually spend some on credit cards, not much, but it is so nice knowing that I haven’t this year! It’s a relief.
More great tips! Thanks!
love the tip, and totally have been doing that for years!! its def saved me a lot of money!
Great tip! I started a Christmas Club bank account at my bank a few years ago. It deducts $5, $10, or $20 out of your paycheck every week and puts it into an account you can’t withdraw from until the day after Thanksgiving. It’s saved my finances!
Love the tips! Also almond milk is my favorite!
Another cereal of mine that I love! I actually can’t get chex in Canada so I always buy a box when I come down to the states.
Credit cards are the devil!
