Frugal Holiday Gift Guide: Crate & Barrel

Good morning and happy Friday my friends! I woke up to a chilly morning (yay! I only wish it would last!) so I broke out my old favorite of pumpkin oats.

Today’s frugal holiday tip will follow at the end of today’s frugal holiday gift guide: Crate & Barrel edition! I can’t think of a single woman who does not like Crate & Barrel. Good news – you can shop there for your gifts this holiday season and not break your bank! Here are some of my foodie-related favorites, all under $20. (Except that since all your gifts will come in those exciting black and white boxes, your loved ones will think you spent a lot more than you did!)

  • Stockholm Ramekin – these are a beautiful way to jazz up your standard ramekins. At $1.95 each, try giving a set of ramekins (either 4, 6, 8 or more) with a homemade jar of baking mix.

  • Wine Bottle Thermometer – for the wine afficionado in your family, this $8.95 wine bottle thermometer paired with a $10 or under bottle of wine is an ideal gift that will allow the gift-recipient to ensure that they’re enjoying every wine and its optimal temperature.

  • Cheese/ Grill/ Tea Honeys – I know many friends who love honey! They’re a little pricey at $10.95 each, but you could combine the tea honey with a $5 C & B mug (see below) and a few of your favorite tea bags for a wonderful, warming gift.

  • Minami Teapot with Infuser & Minami Teacups – This is a beautiful tea set! To purchase the teapot and the teacups together would be a little costly, but if you went in with someone else you could purchase the teapot ($19.95) and four teacups ($2.95 each) for $32 together. If you both had a $20 budget you could throw in some green tea or other tea accessories.

  • Mini Glass Creamer – these aren’t very practical, but they’re adorable! At $1.95 each with a lid, they make a great vessel for things like homemade spice mixes, candies and more.

There are many, MANY more affordable gifts and Crate&Barrel! Food related, decor, and more! I wish there was a Crate & Barrel here in Gainesville, because I’d probably head over there this afternoon! To go with the whole Crate & Barrel them of the day, today’s Frugal Holiday Tip is also C&B inspired.

Frugal Holiday Tip #7

Go homemade! Take inspiration from some of the classic Crate & Barrel gourmet goodies to make your own at home! Mint Joy Cookies, Chocolate Caramel Grahams with Peppermint, Dark Chocolate Enrobed Almonds, Swedish Ginger Cookies, Mint Melts, S’Mores and more! You can also whip up some chocolate dipped pretzels (which would look lovely drizzled with white chocolate or sprinkled with holiday colored sugar, crystalized ginger, holiday sprinkles, chopped nuts and more), gourmet popcorn (drizzle with dried fruit, chocolate, nuts, etc.), or some of my Peppermint Bark. The other good thing about making these at home? You can alter them to fit whatever needs you have(vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc.). (I’ll be working on a vegan version of my peppermint bark soon!)

Drooling over everything in this post, the oats and the items from Crate & Barrel. I’ve been known to wander around that store for ridiculous periods of time :)

LOVE these gift ideas!!!! I’m actually kind of glad that we don’t have a Crate and Barrel near us because I fear I would put my family in welfare. I could do some serious damage in this store! :( Why is it so easy to spend money on food and house items?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend sweetie!

I have a Crate & Barrel within walking distance from me, but I’ve never gone in because I always assume it’s too expensive! Thank you so much for posting this though, because now I’ll definitely be heading over! Especially since today was pay day and I’ve been looking for nice ramekins!

I love Crate & Barrel, they have the cutest stuff! I love all the little (and cheap) ramekins they sell there. :)
