Christmas in Orlando!

What a fabulous weekend I’ve had so far, and there’s definitely plenty more fun to come! Last night Ross and I drove down to Orlando to celebrate an early Christmas with his family, since we’ll be with mine during the actual Christmas Day. Since we’ve given their gifts, I can finally show you the very budget friendly crafts I’ve been working on for my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. In the midst of crafts, I was obsessed over the colors of paint I was mixing, so I wanted to share a couple photos I thought were pretty (because, you know, I’m a girl and obsessed with pretty things ;) ):

I knew both of their favorite quotes (verses in this case) and some of their favorite colors, so I knew these canvases would be perfect. Jordan, my sister-in-law loves green and yellow and Exodus 14:14 (The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.) has been her favorite verse/ quote for ages!

My mother-in-law loves a lot of blues and her favorite verse is Hebrews 13:2 (Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it). I made a cloud/ sky looking background for hers (you can also tell the size of the canvas by the dinner-sized paper plate in the background):

These really aren’t that complicated to make (I promise I don’t hand paint in perfect fonts) so if you are interested in a step-by-step tutorial, please let me know – I took pictures along the way so I would be happy to share! (P.S. Since I had paint, the total cost for each canvas was $5).

Want to see what I got for Christmas? In addition to a couple giftcards, I got this beauty: a Breville Compact Juicer!!!

So excited! I can’t wait to get home and JUICE! :D

Since last night was really late (traffic, construction, blown up bridges on the turnpike, etc.), we slept in until 9:30. So late!! Today is so gorgeous though, so Ross and I headed out for a very casual jog. We did about 2.5 miles of run 4 minutes walk a minute. It felt amazing and it was one of the most fun runs I’ve had together with Ross in a while. :)

Then it was lunchtime! (I know, I missed breakfast due to a late start and a run and getting showered….it hardly ever happens!) I headed over to Infusion Tea to meet Caitlin, Ryan, Meghann and Ashley for lunch. Love these girls and love Infusion Tea! I got the exact same thing I got last time I was here: lunch special of a cup of vegan tempeh chili, a half Milton salad (greens, cucumber, tomato, beets, sunflower seeds, cranberries, hummus and tabbouleh with a balsamic glaze) and unsweetened iced Moroccan Mint tea.

Such a great lunch with wonderful friends! Post-lunch I hit up my happy place, which we don’t have in Gainesville: Whole Foods!!

Most of what I got was some fresh organic produce on sale (for juicing!!), a few things from the bulk bins I can only find here and of course, the obligatory vegan chocolate chip cookie. Amazing! I was good:

Time to go rouse Ross from his nap, we have Christmas shopping to finish and a fun double date to head to tonight!! :)
