Christmas Adam

Happy Christmas Adam! Back when we were kids my sister and I realized that today, the day before Christmas Eve, should rightly be called Christmas Adam. I mean, Adam did come before Eve! ;)

Today has been such a busy, joyous day! I started out with grabbing the last cinnamon raisin bagel this morning for breakfast, then enjoyed a wrapping fest. I forgot to take a picture of all the beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree, but I’ll take a more impressive pic when we get to Sarasota of all the gifts on Christmas morning. :)

Mid-wrapping there was a knock on the door, and who should appear but the jolly man in brown! (Sometimes I think I like him more than that big man in red – the man in brown visits me more often. ;) ) Lo and behold there was a package from not only one of my favorite bloggers ever, but from a dear friend and one of the sweetest girls I know – Whit! (I still remember when I first saw her blog – I felt like we were such kindred spirits with our similarities, and I was immediately drawn to her bubbly, vivacious personality, strong faith and let’s face it – her smokin’ looks! ;) )

For the record can I state that Whit is the BEST gift giver/ package exchanger EVER!! My blog is going to be pimped out with Trader Joe’s goodies for quite some time now, all courtesy of Whit. :)

First some wine – Honey Moon! You better believe that I brought this with us to Sarasota to enjoy on Christmas! (Who am I kidding, I brought the whole package!)

(I guess I forgot to take a photo? You’ll see some within a day or two, I guarantee it!)

Next there was a gorgeous Christmas plate with the cutest snowman ever – you know, for pimping out the blog! ;)

I’m not sure who’s more excited about this next one, me or Ross. Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s! I snacked on a serving in the car and these are amazing! Taste delicious and smell just like thin mints!

Next – the motherload. Something my heart has been longing for since I finished off my stash from my first (and only) TJ’s visit – ALMOND BUTTER!! Creamy and Raw Crunchy!!

To go with the “butter” theme there was also pumpkin butter!! I’m a huge fan of pumpkin butter. :)

As well as Cranberry Apple Butter – Whit, how did you know that I have been wanting to try this for ages!? I see it on blogs all the time and it always looks so good!

The last goodie was Whit’s personal fave – Corn and Chili salsa! Did you know it was fajita night tonight? It’s delicious, although I barely got a bite out of it before Ross had killed off half the jar!

Oh, and I told Ross that you got him a puppy for Christmas. He now loves you more than me. ;) And yes – one day we MUST meet in real life!

Thank you SO MUCH Whit, you are amazing. Can Christmas even get any better now?!? ;)

Ross thinks so – he found this old leash and left it under the tree and said, “part of your Christmas present is already under the tree – the other part is waiting for you in Sarasota!” Rightttt, nice try handsome. ;)

Before we left I juiced up the last of our produce for two large juices to go. I juiced about a bag and a half of romaine, two handfuls of baby carrots, four organic green apples, five small tangerines ad a knob of ginger. Despite the less-than-appealing color, these were quite delicious and Ross and I both enjoyed them with a couple ice cubes popped in!

We then had a discussion on calling juices “plant blood” and Ross says that makes me a plant vampire, or a plant vamp. I kinda like it. ;) It’s a good thing I’m a plant vamp and we juiced though, we needed energy on our travels! Check out the traffic we had to get through – and this was when it was still light out! :(

You don’t even want to know how long we were sitting there (and getting excited when we’d start to crawl again). Oh holiday traffic I love you. Can’t deter me though, because I knew that my awesome family was waiting for me at the end of the never-ending traffic! Isn’t my mom adorable in her Christmas apron (and how apropros that she had a green shirt on today, too).

Since it took so long to get here, we were starving when we arrived! Good thing my mom was already hard at work on fajita night! I had a tortilla with lettuce, corn and chili salsa, mushrooms, red bell peppers, black beans and taco sauce. As well as nachos! Yum!

Off to go spend some time with my familia and more Christmas movies!
