Raging Sweet Carbs

Hey loves! Happy Friday! :) I was pretty low-key today, as I was feeling rather “womanly”, if you catch my drift. Fortunately I don’t have anywhere to be on Fridays, so I was able to get some work and class stuff done at home. Three cheers for not having to look presentable! ;) (Sorry Mr. FedEx man…)

Breakfast started with a lovely pot ‘o scum. ;) I kinda sorta charred my pot that I made my lentils in last night so I dumped some water and baking soda in the pot and let it boil away for awhile. All better!

DSC_0254 My real breakfast was oats! I made the oats with a half cup of oats, almond milk, a dash of vanilla and tons of cinnamon!

Can’t forget the teaspoon of brown sugar on top! I decided it was worth the 15 calorie splurge. ;)

Lunch was super clean – fresh spinach with some leftover lentils from last night.

My sweet tooth has been raging all day (um, hormonal much?) so I enjoyed a cleaner sweet (compared to the giant Whole Foods vegan chocolate chip cookie I was dreaming of – good thing there’s no Whole Foods here!). In a mini round cake pan (2-3 inches diameter) I put in some frozen blueberries, vegan chocolate chips, a drizzle of raw agave and some plain almond milk.

I love the icy sweetness of this treat! Check out how the almond milk (or whatever milk/ milk substitute you choose) ices around the frozen berries! So cool! (haha…bad pun)

Remember that raging sweet tooth that came with the hormones today? She brought along her friend, the raging carb tooth! We made french bread pizzas tonight. I used ciabatta bread, lots of sauce, vegan cheeze, oregano and garlic powder. Probably one of the easiest meals to throw together and clean up in a while!

Ross and I used to love french bread pizzas back in the college days (specifically the Stouffer’s french bread pizzas) so this was a great, homemade, vegan, semi-healthier alternative to remind us of the good ol’ days. ;) (Totally kidding – today’s days are great, too!)

Thank goodness I had that clean lunch to balance out my less-than-green breakfast and dinner today! I’m sure this weekend will be clean, too – I’ll be freshly stocking my produce stores tomorrow, so that’s always inspiration for clean, vibrant eats!

Question of the Night (for anyone else cool enough to be chilling at home like we are) – do you have any flashback foods like our french bread pizzas? This brought us right back to the days of Stouffer’s french bread pizzas and M&M McFlurry’s. I’ve come a long way, eh? ;)

Pizza is such an easy but delicious meal to throw together-great idea to use ciabatta bread!

String cheese reminds me of the “break period” we had mid-morning in high school, haha I would be starving and string cheese was all I had for some reason!

That pizza looks lovely. Since this was my last week off before school starts again, I truly took advantage and I believe I only had occasion to put makeup on once. The people at the gym & grocery store should be use to seeing me a mess at this point. Have a wonderful Saturday!

That’s a great cleaning tip! I’m in Gainesville until Monday if you want to meet up . . . I know it’s kind of short notice, but I accomplished more work than I expected yesterday so now I am free!!!!! :)
