Saturdays are made for relaxing in my house! After a late night movie we slept in to the sound of rain this morning. Does it really get any better than that? Before some cleaning I had some Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin bread with pumpkin butter. Great fuel for a day of organization!
Our cleaning and organization extravaganza lasted quite a while, but we managed to break for lunch! More leftover lentils, this time with more steamed spinach and some ciabatta crostini.
I wanted another sweet snack afterwards, specifically the same blueberry almond milk snack I had yesterday. Unfortunately, we were all out of almond milk! Ross and I decided to split this vanilla rice milk yogurt that I had found recently. One unexpected detail was that it was brown-ish inside! Hmmm…not the typical vanilla yogurt I remember!
This ricera rice yogurt was just ok. It was kind of like a thin custard in texture (Ross’ words) and I just thought it had a funny aftertaste. Good thing frozen blueberries and vegan chocolate chips are good masking agents.
(P.S. I was not paid or given samples to review their product – just tried it on my own and wanted to pass my “wouldn’t buy it again” memo on.)
We finally decided to head out for our grocery errands. Of course, it was one of those times where as soon as you left a store it started raining harder. Typical, eh?
We used some of our new groceries for a fajita night! I had two low carb/ high fiber 50 kcal each La Tortilla Factory whole wheat tortillas with fajita veggies (onions, red bell pepper, mushrooms + lemon and seasonings), black olives, avocado, salsa and romaine lettuce.
Delicious! Apparently even though I’m a vegan I can still make a mean steak, as Ross had picked up some skirt steak for his fajitas. Good to know that I can still hold my own in the kitchen in all areas!
Off to watch a movie and I’m sure find something for dessert – the fiery salsa is still burning in my mouth and I think I’m going to need something to cool me down!
Happy weekending!

ehhh..i don’t know if i would be able to eat a yogurt that’s brown…and supposed to be vanilla…at least you gave it a chance! haha!
and i’m waiting for the rain to get down here..t-storms tonight baby!
I think the only yogurt I like is Silks
yummy!!
You know, for being a vegan…sometimes you wouldn’t even know it! Most of the vegan blogs I visit usually show out-of-the-ordinary (but still delicious looking!) meals and recipes, but you’ve proved that you can still eat like a “normal person” while being vegan. And I love it
I began my day with cleaning and organizing to the sound of rain also! It was kind of therapeutic
