Nerdy Admission

Good morning! Three cheers for THURSDAY! Today is my Friday so I am ready to get today over and done with! Not for the reasons you think, though. I’m about to make an admission that qualifies me as a huge nerd.

I’m excited because I do most of my school work and studying on Fridays and tomorrow, in addition to regular stuff that’s due, our first online exam becomes available! I know, I know. I’m a nerd. But I am quickly becoming obsessed with everything nutrition-related that I’m learning, and I just can’t get enough! I care so much more about school this time around (not that I didn’t before, I did!), but it’s different because I actually want to make my career out of this. Every time I open my textbook I just feel so inspired! I’m sure it won’t be like that for every class, but for now I’m running with it!

Breakfast this morning was a small mug of raisin bran and almond milk – no picture because I think you’ve seen enough raisin bran this week. ;)

My hunger levels have been so weird lately (in the no/ low appetite side of weird) so I broke my lunch up today. I was originally going to eat just this half of this homemade hummus-rosemary bread sandwich and bring the other half to work, but I ended up eating the whole sandwich now while it’s warm and toasty. I have an apple and carrots to snack on later, and if I’m really in need of it, I have part of a larabar in my purse, too.

I just realized this sandwich looks huge – it’s not! This is just a half that’s shown, on a tea saucer. It’s finger-sized! Sometimes pictures can be so misleading!

My homemade hummus needs some work! I’ll post the recipe when I get it sorted out. I think I need to invest in some tahini.

Before I go I just wanted to let you know that I heard back from the Tribal Moose company, after I emailed them the link to my review. They apologized (which was appreciated, although it was also my own fault for not fully reading the ingredients first!) and suggestions for removing the high fructose corn syrup and adding nutrition facts and ingredient lists to the website have been passed on to the owners. Here’s hoping they take constructive criticism well!

Now it’s off to work I go. See you later once a favorite crock pot soup finishes bubbling away and making my home smell awesome! :)

(Sidenote: I just remembered it’s pay day! Work just became a little more appealing. ;) )

There’s never a better reason to be excited for work than payday! Yay! :-D

Oh, and I’m right with ya in the nerd department…a new notebook and sharpened pencils always made me excited about school! And it’s so awesome that you can identify this “nerd-happy feeling” with the fact that you love what you’re studying! Sounds like you have found your “thing,” Linds ;-) Love you girl!
