The wonderfully sweet Josie from Terra Source Chocolates sent me a Tea Infusions Assortment of Chocolate, just in time to be reviewed for the upcoming holiday of chocolate, hearts, pink and amore.
Terra source is all natural, all vegan, eco-friendly and more! It’s obvious to see why I was attracted to Terra Source Chocolates.
The ingredients are pretty stellar, with Fair Trade chocolate, coconut milk, coconut oil, sugar, brown rice syrup, fruit juice, dried lavender, citrus zest, and assorted teas.
Not to mention, beautiful! Josie is a self-taught chocolatier and these handcrafted chocolates looked impeccable, just like they came off an assembly line!
I set up my own assembly line to keep track of all the chocolates and take proper notes. Josie sent me samples of the Masala Chai Tea, Lavender Tea, Orange Ginger, Caramel Rooibos Tea, and Pomegranate White Tea Chocolates, and for the ultimate taste test I split each chocolate in half to be tried by both me and my non-vegan husband.
Pomegranate White Tea
My thoughts: The pomegranate white tea truffle was very delicious! The flavors were actually a lot more subtle than I expected.
Ross’ thoughts: It was very creamy inside, and tasted more like pomegranate and not so much like white tea. (I have to agree, but it makes sense – pomegranates have a much stronger flavor profile than white tea does, and it’s easy to see how the white tea gets overshadowed by both the dark chocolate and pomegranate, which complement each other nicely).
Caramel Rooibos Tea
My thoughts: Sweet, creamy and delicious! It didn’t have as strong of a caramel flavor or texture that I was anticipating, but it was still quite tasty. I really enjoyed the rooibos tea flavor, too!
Ross’ thoughts: It has a very smooth, soft flavor.
Orange Ginger
My thoughts: The ginger was very strong! I’ve never had ginger and chocolate together, and while it was an interesting combination, it was also a rather attractive combination that pulled you in! Because of the strength of the ginger, the orange wasn’t quite as noticeable.
Ross’ thoughts: The ginger was over-powering, and almost had a floral taste.
Lavender Tea
My thoughts: Good! I loved the lavender notes. This was such a unique (and new to me) chocolate pairing. I’m feeling a lavender obsession coming on!
Ross’ thoughts: “I don’t like it.” (boys. It was too “flowery” for him).
Masala Chai Tea
My thoughts: I love soy chai tea lattes, so this was like a yummy, gooey, chocolaty chai tea latte! So good! I’m totally inspired to make a chai tea/ hot chocolate cross over, right this instant!
Ross thoughts: He’s not a big fan of chai tea and the spices in chai tea to begin with, so his palate is just skewed.
Overall?
I thought the chocolates had a very impressive caliber, especially for vegan chocolates which can sometimes be grainy. These were all smooth and delicious! I also adored the originality of the tea infusions to the chocolates. Such a sweet novelty! Ross also thought they were good, but he wasn’t quite sure what to make on all the tea flavors. The quality was great though, and they were tasty! My non-vegan husband says that you would not know these chocolates were vegan unless you were told. For anything vegan, that’s always a high compliment.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to try your chocolates, Josie! Ross and I had fun playing chocolate connoisseurs for a night.

what a fun post.
Those look amazing! What a fun Valentines Day treat.
Now this is the kind of “product testing” that I would enjoy! How fun!
Yummmm!
Oh, those look amaze. I think I’d go for the pomegranate white tea flavor. I can’t even imagine what it would taste like, though!
The chocolate look gorgeous, but I really don’t know how I feel about vegan chocolate. I bought the vegan carbo chips and kind of think they taste like cigarettes. I’m trying to get use to them, but I just can’t. Think I will stick with the regular carbo chips, but maybe not all vegan chocolate is created the same?
Oh you need to find good vegan chocolate! I actually haven’t tried carob chips, but it’s mainly because I can get a package of delicious, vegan-friendly, Ghiradelli semisweet chocolate chips for $2.08 at Walmart.
Before you swear off vegan chocolate, try it without carob! I promise! I’m picky with chocolate.
Great review! Your handwritten notes are so cute
I think any type of chocolates that are in pretty shapes are absolutely divine, it’s all in the presentation!
