Cleaning Therapy

Hey pretty ladies (and gents – any handsome gents willing to represent?). How’s your Friday going? Mine’s been calm, which is much appreciated after yesterday’s bad news, although I still feel pretty drained. Not sure how the family member is really doing. More tests are being done and only time will tell.

What better way to rejuvenate than with juice? I tried a combination that I’ve been dreaming about for a little while now: Cucumber Melon juice with hints of lime and ginger. Sounds like it’d make a great cocktail, no?

It was pretty good! The taste was actually fairly neutral, and it surprisingly wasn’t too sweet from the cantaloupe. If I was making this for Ross I’d probably double the cantaloupe, and I’d also do a whole lime and more ginger. Needed a little more zing!

I had my juice pretty early, so by mid-morning I was getting hungry, especially with all the cleaning therapy I’ve been doing! :) I made my favorite sandwich, grilled hummus and tomato! It had two slices of Ezekiel 7 Grain Bread with homemade hummus and local tomato.

While cleaning I’ve had a raw goody in the oven (very low temp – between the “warm” setting and 200 degrees!). I don’t know if it’ll technically be raw since I don’t know for sure the temperature in the oven, but regardless, it’s going to be awesome! Any guesses?

I just had my “second lunch” of a mug of last night’s Simple Lentil Soup. I just added a splash of water to it as I reheated it and it’s good as new!

My sweet tooth was also hollering, so I made a tiny treat of some unsweetened almond milk, low fat vanilla almond granola and some vegan chocolate chips. It was probably about a quarter cup, to give you a size reference. Please excuse my hot pink baby spoons. ;)

DSC_1592 Time to go keep up my cleaning! I also need to break for the gym and some studying at some point, and then I have to go get a tetanus shot. :( A rusty old furniture staple got me yesterday at work, and it drew blood. Just as luck would have it, tetanus shots last ten years and it’s been eleven since I last had mine. Good thing I love needles (not). It’s ok, I’d much rather spend the $45 for a tetanus shot and some momentary aches than chance lockjaw, drooling, fever, uncontrolled urination or defecation, respiratory arrest, heart failure, pneumonia, brain damage, full body spasms, spinal fractures or even death. Sounds peachy, right? Now you understand why I’d actually rather take a needle. ;)

Catch ya later!

Good luck getting the shot! I agree, better to be safe and spend the $45, than sorry.

    Have a lovely afternoon. :)

Good luck with your shot! I hate having to get ‘em. Ouch!
