My Grandfather Could Use Your Prayers

Hey friends. I wanted to take a break from my normal posting to let you know what’s been going on with me and my family. Yesterday morning I got a phone call from my mom that my grandfather had a stroke. Long story short, the doctors think that he may have had a heart attack first which was part of what triggered the stroke. He’s never really been the healthiest of individuals (he was actually already in the hospital when this happened for a shoulder reversal surgery), so…yeah. There’s still lots of tests to be done but basically right now it’s just one of those things where only time will tell.

This is where I need your help:

My grandma is probably the biggest fan of Sound Eats EVER. She religiously checks the blog multiple times a day and in my Christmas card I even got a , “P.S. I love your blog!”. ;) Tomorrow I’m going to be posting a “Prayers for Pap” (Pap is what we call my grandfather) post, where I am going to be posting every thought, well wishes, prayers and more that you all leave in the comments or email me. (I don’t think Grandma’s quite figured out the comments yet, so that’s why I’ll do a separate post). There’s so little any of us can do right now, but I have a strong feeling that seeing all of your (our!) well wishes, prayers and thoughts that we’re pulling for Pap written out would mean more than we could ever imagine to my grandmother.

Thank you so much in advance for your well wishes and prayers, friends. And thank you for helping me try to support my grandparents in one small little way.

You and your family are definitely in my prayers. My grandfather had a stroke when I was younger and it definitely shook my family up quite a bit. I know how scary and uncertain it can feel. Just now that you have someone in California praying for all of you!

And if you ever want to email, I’m always here. amanda.mcgreevy@gmail.com

    My prayer for pap-

Lord, may you bring peace and comfort to the troubled and worried hearts of this family. Be with Pap and lay your healing hand over his soul. You bring hope to sadness and reason to despair and may we all have faith that you are with Pap during this time.

Bless you Lindsey and Grandma! :)

    <3 you!

    Sweet Lindsey, Grandma, and Pap,

I just prayed for you all and will keep you in my prayers during this time of uncertainty and waiting. I pray for peace in the waiting period and healing for Pap.

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

This is actually one of my favorite verses, and I can’t think of anything better for you and your family to rest on:

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26

I pray that courage, strength, and peace be with you and your family (especially you – Grandma!). Sometimes these things are completely beyond our understanding, but know that God is in control and His peace PASSES all our understanding. Love & prayers. Keep us posted. xoxo

Lord, I pray that You will be with Lindsey and her family right now. I ask, Father, that You will be with Pap and that you will touch him with Your healing Hand. I pray that Your peace will surround his family as they go through this trying time and that you would heap strength on their heads. Give the doctors wisdom and guidance as they care for Pap. Thank you for hearing our prayers and for keeping this family tightly in Your grip. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

    PS-Love you, Linds <3

Times like these are never easy … but one thing I do whole heartedly believe, prayer does change things, and God is always there making ALL things work together for the good of those that love Him. I pray that the Lord will be with your family and bring comfort, peace and hope to believe that somehow, with Him, everything is going to be all right! :)

I pray for Pap and your family, I pray that God will just surround you all with comfort and peace as he recovers. I pray that he recovers quickly and that you all stay strong through all of this! I mostly pray that you will all just grow closer in love through this as well, that it helps you appreciate every single moment with him. Praying for Grandma as well, Grandma I hope you will somehow find peace from God through this difficult time! I pray the Lord just fills you with his spirit and that you feel his peace like a giant hug! All my thoughts and prayers.
