Thank you so, so, so much for your prayers and well wishes for my grandfather and my family. I’ll be posting the “Prayers for Pap” post this afternoon, so if you want to contribute any thoughts or prayers, there’s still time!

For a “day off” yesterday, I was pretty busy! I kept cleaning for most of the afternoon. I think it’s part cleaning therapy, part my need to feel in control so I take it out by organizing my pantry, and part spring time cleaning and purging. Regardless, my kitchen has never shown so brightly! Next stop: the bedroom’s HUGE closet! I also broke mid-afternoon to hit up the apartment gym’s stationary bike while simultaneously doing some reading so I could complete my Nutrition assignment last night.
After Ross got home it was finally time to get my tetanus shot. I’m officially the biggest wuss ever.
I’ll admit – it wasn’t that bad. My “trick” (if you can even call it that) is to just keep talking to the attendant and turn your head the other direction so you can’t anticipate when it’s coming. The only bummer is that despite taking two extra strength tylenol before the shot, the area on my arm hurt like I was sucker-punched, and it still aches and hurts this morning! Like I said – world’s biggest wuss here.
Since I had spent all day cleaning I was totally not in the mood to dirty a bunch of pots and pans in my freshly cleaned kitchen. That = Moe’s take out! I got the “Big Moo” (also called Joey Junior at some locations) as a “streaker” (aka no tortilla). It had lettuce, rice, black beans, guacamole, salsa, cucumbers, black olives and cilantro. When I came home I also squeezed a wedge of lime over it as a delicious “dressing”. Also consumed was a cough uh, "*few* cough tortilla chips.
I realized I never got in my baking therapy yesterday, so I decided it was ok to dirty up one bowl and a few measuring cups to make Super-Charge Me! Cookies! Standard recipe with raisins, vegan chocolate chips (obviously, I did say this was baking therapy!) and reduced fat unsweetened coconut . I never took a picture but two were enjoyed with some plain almond milk.
After a beautiful night’s sleep I finally woke this morning to a multigrain bagel with Polaner fruit-sweetened Black Cherry fruit spread.
It’s really a beautiful, peaceful, grey day, and it’s kind of cool! I love cool weather in Florida.
I think today will be full of grocery shopping (need to restock a couple essentials), studying, cleaning, working on the health bloggers database and more!
What are you up to this fine Saturday?

So far my Saturday consists of sitting at the kitchen table with my dad (it’s his birthday) – both on our laptops. We’re majorly snowed in up here in PA! But it’s kind of nice – I’m looking directly out our glass sliding doors at a winter wonderland =)
all the best to your family!
I slept in until 8A and it felt so great!!! I had a yummy breakfast, great workout, found great deals at the supermarket and now just listening to Pandora and catching up on emails. A peaceful day for me
Hope your grandpa is ok and recovers!
I got a tetanus shot last week too…and it hurt for 4 days!!!!! I think of myself as having a high pain tolerance…so either it was a doozy of a shot or I’m overestimating my resistance to pain.
