Catch Up

Let’s play catch up, shall we? For any of those who were out of the blogging loop over the weekend, I shared that my grandfather had a stroke and a heart attack on Thursday morning. You all humbled me and made my heart so incredibly grateful by your sweet prayers, thoughts and kind words. However, while that ranks pretty high in family heath/ drama, that’s not been all. Let’s break it down.

Thursday: My grandfather had a stroke and a heart attack. I haven’t gotten any updates recently, but last I heard he was showing signs of improvement.

Friday: My sister-in-law Jordan had surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL, and also had part of her meniscus removed (this was from an indoor soccer injury a couple months ago). She also had some issues with the meds and couldn’t remember snippets from a couple days.

Today: My brother-in-law, Roman, has apparently lost his memory and recollection of most individuals (I heard he does remember his parents). I guess he’s had a headache since Friday afternoon, but upon waking this morning they noticed immediately something was off (i.e. he didn’t know what cereal was). They’ve been running tests on him all day but everything has coming back clear, so they have no idea what happened or what triggered this. When Ross talked to him on the phone tonight, their mom had to remind Roman, “this is your brother”. Did I mention Roman is only seventeen years old?

So, that said – I know I’ve already asked for your prayers once, but if you’re the praying sort, I’d really, really appreciate it if you could keep our family in your prayers. Pray for peace for the family, for understanding and quick thinking for the doctors, for healing, for patience, and for a conclusion to what’s going on with Roman to be brought to our attention soon.

It’s all just so weird, and it’s really kind of hard to believe, “is this all really happening?!”

On a different note, if you’re a member of our family PLEASE keep yourself safe and healthy, k? Thanks. :)

Let’s just move on, k? Life’s become a weird balance of moving forward while feeling incredibly out of control lately. May as well keep that forward motion going on the blog, too!

I woke up first thing and did Day 1/90 of P90X – the verdict? Well at least for the Chest and Back dvd? Not too bad! We didn’t have a pull up/ chin up bar set up right now, so I used a resistance band draped over a closed door locked in place. I also didn’t go “balls to the wall” – I pushed myself, but enough that I’ll still be able to move tomorrow. Ab Ripper X on the other hand? Ee gads, shoot me now. Holyyyy burn. I can already tell this will be what I’m going to have to push myself the most in!

Afterwards I had some Kashi Oat Flakes and Wild Blueberry Clusters Cereal with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze.

Lunch I split up into two parts: Part A was a slice of toasted Ezekiel 7 Grain Bread with last night’s chili leftovers on top. Soooo good!

Part B was a portable green smoothie was spinach, a cup of almond milk, 1.5 Tablespoons chocolate brown rice protein powder, ice and a frozen banana.

Work pretty much flew by in a daze. I got the “Roman has no memory or recollection of people” text from Ross soon after I got in, so it was another “push through it and get it done” day. I did have half a larabar and a fruit leather strip I found in the bottom of my purse – I was soooo hungry at work.

I was so beat when I got home I just whipped up leftovers – makes for poor blogging, but at least it’s all gone now, and you call can enjoy my dinner from tonight, tomorrow! :)

Spinach topped with tortilla chips, chili sauce and tofu nacho cheese.

I also ate some vegan chocolate chip cookies. They were awesome. No regrets!

It’s time to crash. Good thing one of our favorite shows (Castle) is on! Bring on the mind-numbing tv, round 2.

Thanks again for the prayers. I love you guys.
