Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you love, hate or could care less about the holiday, I hope you have a wonderful day!

The weather is gorgeous in Gainesville today – bright, sunny, blue skies and temps on the cool side. You all know that makes me a happy camper! :)

Before church, I made my tummy a happy camper with a small breakfast, since I knew an early lunch was on the agenda. After seeing all the raving reviews about Food for Life’s Millet Bread from Gina, Ryan and Katy, I knew I had to try it! I had a slice with some Polaner black cherry jam and a strawberry GoodBelly.

My thoughts? It was good! I think I over-did it in the toaster, but it was quite delicious and chewy, and certainly one of the best gluten-free breads I’ve tried!

When I came out of the bathroom/ bedroom from primping and getting ready, I saw that my handsome husband surprised me with flowers! Tulips are my absolute favorite flower ever! Had I not gotten married in July when tulips are not in season, you could have bet tulips would have been included in my wedding flowers! I also loved the extra thoughtfulness that the flowers I got were potted, so I can enjoy them much longer than a couple weeks in a vase. That is, assuming I don’t kill them! (yikes!)

After church we hit up Moe’s for a Valentine’s double date with our friends Chris and Danielle. I got a Naked Big Moo, which had lettuce, black beans, rice, guacamole, cilantro, black olives, salsa, cilantro and cucumber. I also took a few lime wedges from the beer section to use as a dressing over my naked burrito (aka salad?).

The Big Moo comes with a cookie (which is definitely not vegan, so I declined), a drink (I got unsweetened tea that I squeezed lemon into) and a mountain of tortilla chips! I think I ended up eating about half of the chips? I didn’t leave feeling stuffed or overly full in the slightest, so that’s what matters most. :)

Now we’re debating our afternoon plans. Thinking about taking in a matinee, and we can’t decide which one! As much as we both loved Avatar, I think we’d rather see something new in theaters (and not pay the extra $$ for 3D). The debate is between Valentine’s Day and Blind Side. Thinking we may go with Blind Side because it won’t be as crowded and, more importantly, I think we’d both be able to enjoy it more. :)

Have a wonderful day!

That salad looks awesome! I love using lime as a dressing, it adds the perfect tang. Have a great V-day with your hubby!

I am flying out of the Syracuse airport tonight (about an hour and a half away from Ithaca), so we were looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat for dinner in Syracuse. We saw a Moe’s, and I told Dan we had to eat there because I had heard so many good things about it from you. Loved it!

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

Tulips are my favourite too!! I got married in June, so tulips were out for me too but my florist actually surprised me and was able to put some in my bouquet …wish I had a pic of that… however, this was before widespread digital!!!
