Spill the Juicy Deets!

Hey friends! Apparently I’m awful at managing  my time when I get sucked into poor-quality, high-trash television so we better make this quick. ;)

I wasn’t hungry when I  woke up this morning so I did Yoga X first. Afterwards I had a portable meal I could take with me to work consisting of two favorites. A grilled hummus and tomato sandwich and a green smoothie!

The green smoothie had a tropical flair, but not as much as I hoped it would. It had 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond breeze, spinach, 1/2 cup fresh pineapple, 1/2 cup frozen mango, 1 T. sunflower seeds,  and ice. Ehhh. What do I wish it had? Coconut water and more fruity flavors! For some reason I’m not a huge fan of coconut water by itself but I absolutely adore it in green monsters!

I snacked on a Coconut Cream Pie Larabar at work (tied for favorite with the Tropical Fruit Tart bar!) while at work. I was ready for dinner when I  got home, and fortunately dinner was ready for me!

I had seen Ryan make these delicious-sounding almond-based raw falafel, so I had to give it a go. I followed the recipe almost to a tee. I didn’t have cilantro so I just used extra parsley, and I had them in my oven (no dehydrator, so sad!). I had them with my oven dial between warm and 200 and kept them in about four hours. They weren’t quite the consistency I wanted, so I just turned my oven off and left them in there overnight.

I loved the flavor of these falafel, but I’m so bummed by half a cucumber had gone bad so I wasn’t able to make the accompanying cucumber sauce! :( It would have gone fabulously with it, I could almost taste it!

Instead, we spread some plain hummus on a whole wheat flat bread with some spinach and the falafel.

Tasty dinner! Unfortunately I just killed my crazy healthy day with some chocolate oreos. Whoops. I need them for a special birthday dessert later this week and while they’re not healthy, they are vegan! All in moderation, right? ;)

So, now it’s time to spill. What did you think of the Bachelor season finale tonight? The next Bachelorette? The upcoming cast of Dancing With the Stars? I’ll say this:

1. I’m sorry, but both Tenley and Vienna said at different points that they felt they found themselves and happiness through Jake. I’m sorry, but a man does not define who you are or the amount of happiness you can obtain! If you think that, you are not ready for marriage. End of story.

2. I think she’s adorable and will make a great bachelorette. As soon as she left the Bachelor, I knew she’d be the perfect -ette. :)

3. DWTS…interesting line up! I think Jake is a lame choice (sorry, just being honest here!), Kate Gosselin is just…ugh (seriously? can you just stay out of the spotlight and be a mom for a few days?), and Pamela Anderson should be interesting. ;) I am SO looking forward to Buzz Aldrin and Evan Lysacek though! So cool! I may actually watch. :)

So share your thoughts! Spill!

Those falafel balls look awesome, too bad about the cucumber sauce though..I love tzatziki!

  2. Totally agree with #1!!! I said the same thing- a man doesn’t define you! I understand discovering a new side to yourself, sometimes the feeling of love can make you look at things differently. I mean, I liked Tenley, but she obviously still had a lot of open wounds.

Anywho- I’ve never watched DWTS before, but just might because I think Chad “ochocinco’ will be pretty funny.

What do you think of the P90X yoga? Is there another form of yoga you prefer? I liked the P90X but haven’t done any other yoga. Suggestions?!

My jaw dropped when I saw Kate Gosselin was going to be on DWTS. I shouldn’t judge, I know, but I really think she should focus less on “celebrity” right now. And on a total superficial note, I do not like her hair extensions. I think Evan Lysacek will do really well. Pamela Anderson should be no where near my tv screen.

I knew from early on that Jake chose Vienna, because I read the spoilers, but eh, does it matter? They’ll be broken up soon enough.

Tenley was finally started to grow on me and then this! But now looking back, I can see how he was two different people with each gal. Regardless, I am interested to see what happens with them.

I don’t watch DWTS but may have to start! I was shocked that Kate will be on but want to see if she creates drama!
