Oh my gosh, I wish I could get my husband to cancel cable, that would be a huge cut in our expenses! I could totally live without it but I don't know that he could, ha ha.

I appreciate what you said about churches. I feel the same way too, that I'm more spiritual and relational in my Christian faith. Religion gives Jesus a bad name. Some religious people do too.

I consider myself non-denominational. But I'm lucky to have found a church where at least the leadership has it right, at least it seems that way to me. We still have those people who believe the same way that pastor does, but they are the minority.

I have cable but just basic. I have some shows I watch but can always watch them online but keep it for noise in the background and for the internet that comes with it. When I had the cable box with 100+ channels and DVR, it was $130 a month which I refused to pay that much for it.

Yes! I was so excited about HEAB's post today! I used around 1.5 cups of unsweetened coconut (although I'm sure any kind of coconut flakes would work, I think it's the fact that it's still from the meat of the coconut that matters). I just dumped it into the VitaMix and let it go! I have the 5200 with variable speed, so I kept the speed around 5-6 the whole time. Once or twice I stopped it to push some stuff down the sides but I found that it was actually a lot easier than I thought, and the coconut "liquified" a lot faster than I thought it would.

Hope that helps!

unfortunately I have to agree with that. I definitely don't think all churches are like that, as there was actually one particular church Ross and I went to that was SO welcoming and open and "with it" with today's culture, and the focus was NOT on religion at all. It was an amazing church and unfortunately it's why it's so hard for us to find a church now!

Thanks for reading!

My husband is dying to cut cable but I'm not ready to take the plunge. I still like to watch some shows on E! and bravo...trash basically. I do spend a lot of time on my computer, but I still watch some tv.

i watch less than 1 hr of tv per week and it's the real housewives or something similar. the oscars and the best dressed list? I serioulsy had NO IDEA who those women were. It's just not me anymore. I dont care and dont watch anything..i read food blogs...
and i read on HEABs post that you make coconut butter in your vita. Do tell. I am scared that its just gonna be coconut flakes flying everywhere??!! How much do you put in like 1 or 2 cups? What speed/how long? Tamp down, scape down? Any deets you could provide? I have sweetened grocery store coconut flakes; they are not fancy or "dehydrated" or unsweeteed. They were the 1.99/bag baker's coconut flakes for baking with.

Sorry to ramble but I so want to make coconut butter!

I'm going to preface what I'm going to say by admitting the following: I am a preacher's kid. My dad has been a Christian pastor for all but 3 years of my life. I find that churches in general are VERY hypocritical and VERY judgemental. There aren't any exceptions. There might be some really great people in these churches but most of the people who are in leadership are the worst offenders. I would have loved to have a conversation with that pastor after service so he could elaborate and "enlighten" me. ;)

Good for you on the cable decision. I doubt my husband will EVER be there but I keep hoping. Love your blog and enjoy reading it every day.

I had a very similar breakfast this morning - two slices of the same millet toast with some AB & banana slices. I love how chewy that bread gets when toasted - it's almost creamy? Just don't eat it cold, I brought a sandwich to work and the bread just fell apart after one bite.

I just squealed too about New Moon! I didn't know it was that soon, can you believe I haven't seen it yet?? My husband is anti-movie theater.
