Happy Birthday to me!
All in all, today has been a completely "chill" day, with a couple fun occurrences for my 23rd birthday.
I had to go into work this AM, so hubs dropped me off so we wouldn’t have to worry about having two cars this afternoon. On the way I grabbed a free birthday drink from Starbucks (Venti Skinny Iced Latte — couldn’t finish it!) and split this "Protein Plate" with the hubs (it had a hard boiled egg, muesli bread — totally want to make this myself –, fruit, Justin’s honey peanut butter, and white cheddar cheese).
Work flew by and then I got to do what I had been looking forward to for a little while now – lunch with my family! (Picture from our wedding in July 2008 that cracks me up every time I see it. It completely captures our family dynamic.
)
My parents rented a GORGEOUS cabin in North Carolina and they headed up today, stopping by Gainesville for lunch with the hubs and I! We hit up Panera. No pictures, but I had the pick two combo of black bean soup and Greek salad sans onions, peppers and dressing. With french bread of course.
My family came bearing gifts! I hear there’s a UNF sweatshirt and shirt on their way for me (Ospreys hollaaaa), but today I got a to-go Tervis tumbler container for smoothies on the go, some new make up (since I realized all my old stuff was too old!), and Brendan Brazier’s book Thrive.
There were also plentiful cards in the mail along with facebook and twitter well-wishes. Thank you everyone!
After lunch with my fam, Ross and I ran some errands, where I may or may not have run into the half off rack at Old Navy. New workout shorts and yoga pants for under $15 total? Yes please! Birthday gift for myself? Don’t mind if I do!
We also split this vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie as a birthday treat.
The rest of the afternoon was honestly just very chill, which was enjoyable after how go-go-go we’ve been! We did manage to head out on a walk and grab some free Firehouse subs for dinner! (FYI if you have a Firehouse near you, they don’t mail or email you anything, but if you show up on your birthday and show your ID, you get your sub for free!)
Thanks again for all the well-wishes! There will be plenty more fun in the days ahead, as I wrap up the work week, tackle more packing and DIY projects and get ready to head to North Carolina on Friday!
Speaking of – there’s a Trader Joe’s in Atlanta that we’ll pass on the way. We’ll definitely be stopping on the way back, so what are our must-haves?? Here’s last year’s list of your Favorite TJ’s Finds. Anything to add to it?
