Only in Florida during "feels like 104 degree" heat does one need to label boxes with melting warnings….
This whole week has been a crazy week. Monday was our second anniversary, Tuesday Ross drove to Jacksonville to drop some stuff off at our new home and pick up the U-Haul (because it was a lot cheaper to do it that way – go figure?) and we plus a friend did a lot of loading of the U-Haul. Yesterday, Wednesday, was the actual moving day, with Ross and I driving to Jacksonville and unloading EVERYTHING into our second story apartment all by ourselves….beat 3.5 solid hours of lifting, stair climbing and moving, Tony Horton and P90X.
It looked like we jumped in a pool we were so sweaty. Oh, plus yesterday I had to register for classes (not going to lie, that was exciting!)
Now today, Thursday, we’re driving back to Gainesville as I type this. Did I mention that I’ve also been working every day this week? Today’s my last day, so we need to head back for that, plus to finish all the deep cleaning of our old apartment I’ve been working on in my "free time" all week.
But tonight, when we get back to our new apartment, it will be done. We will be home.
(Completely random side note: Does anyone else have a fascination with U-hauls and reading and looking at the fun pictures for each state on the side? Here was ours! Good news! uhaul.com is a good learning resource! I’m pretty sure that will be good to know in a research based health course I’m taking in the fall…)
All in all, it’s been an insane week, but it’s almost over, and I for one couldn’t be happier. Between absurd heat and sun beating down, rain, thunder, lightning, heavy furniture, stairs, awkward entry angles, miles upon miles, scrapes, cuts and bruises, and more, moving definitely brings out the best and worst in a person, which is why I’ve totally decided that the couple that moves together, stays together.
P.S. Jacksonville ladies, if any of you want to offer up your men to help Ross move a washer and dryer on Friday, send me an email! I’ll repay you with baked goods, dinner, Whole Foods hot bar, Kombucha (whenever I can get my hands on it again!), new flavors of Larabars (whenever I can get my hands on them!) or whatever.

Looks like you have been very busy my dear!! I am sure it will all be worth it when you are in your beautiful new apartment!! PLus you get a bonus workout with all this moving..
Good Luck!
I love registering for classes! What did you sign up for?
Good luck on the move
Once settled, if you’re up for a blogger meet-up, we’ve got a great little group here!
Busy Busy Busy!!! How long does it take you to get from your old house to your new one?
I’m sorry that I can’t offer up my hubby as we are having company come into town tomorrow morning.
I would love to attend a Jax blogger meet-up sometime though!
Yay you’re almost there!
Moving certainly brings out the best in people
Moving definitely brings out the best and worst in people. I’m glad that the end is in sight and that you’ll be in your new home soon.
I’m fascinated by U-Hauls, too. I wonder why *most* U-Hauls have Arizona license plates? Have you ever noticed that?
I think that moving is one of those experiences that tests and builds bonds. I’ve moved three times with my partner, and it always feels like such an accomplishment that we get through it!
I love the random U-Haul facts, too. Never know when that info is going to prove useful
I agree that moving is one of the most stressful and trying things a couple can do, great job for keeping so positive! I am a fellow Jacksonville blogger/reader, and would love to meet up once you get here and settled!
