Salutation Nation

Today up and down the east coast lululemon held a Salutation Nation event where 10,000 yogis took their fine asanas outside.

The Jax store’s Salutation Nation combined two of my happy places: the beach + yoga!

P1080481 It was actually a fantastic day for it. I was afraid it was going to be ridiculously hot in the Florida sun, but it was actually wonderfully overcast which made it so enjoyable!

P1080482 I also had the pleasure of having my sister-in-law, Jordan, accompany me. :)

Yoga was amazing, though. It’s been so long since I’ve practiced with others, and I’m looking forward to more in the future! Practicing on the beach was interesting. Like I suspected, it was a little awkward at times with the sand shifting and moving underneath your mat. Honestly, it didn’t even matter though, because simply being able to practice and have it be at the beach completely canceled that out. Plus, nothing compares with ending in savasana with the sound of waves crashing nearby. ;)

I was also excited because the instructor who led our practice this morning, Tricia, is actually one of the instructors at Yoga Life, which 1. is less than a mile from my place and 2. I have a groupon for two unlimited weeks of yoga for! You know where to find me the next two weeks. ;)

Cheers for starting the weekend off on a great note!

  2. Looks like a beautiful morning! Practicing on sand can be challenging, but being so close to the ocean really enhances the experience. I must say, I’m a little jealous that your savasana was accompanied by the sound of waves! Must have been wonderful :)
