A Day in the Life Of

How about a day in the life of Mr. and Mrs. Sound Eats post? :)

While I’m anxious to get settled into a new routine of school + work, I’m taking the time I have now to really relax and enjoy myself! And my husband’s company. ;) Today we started by sleeping in a little, then going on a 3.75 mile jog/walk through some trails we found behind/ through our apartment complex and surrounding communities. It used to be an old golf course, so there’s plenty of paved trail to travel.

We came home and split these new-to-me bars for a light breakfast.

Raw Revolution Chocolate & Coconut:

DSC_1528 Verdict? These were amazing! I actually prefer the smoother texture in these bars much more to larabars. The Chocolate & Coconut one was particularly fudgy and amazing. Loved it, especially because they’re raw, vegan, soy-free, no refined sugars, etc.

Post having dessert for breakfast ;) we headed out to do what any cool couple does when the man is a teacher and the woman is going back to school. Back to school shopping at Staples!! There are some seriously amazing deals…many things for free or for $1. We had $4.99 in coupons, $8.99 in rewards and another $23.26 coming back to us in rebates. Love free and cheap!

Since we were in the Town Center we checked out a healthy organic cafe for lunch that I’ve been wanting to try: Healthy Way Cafe.

P1080502 The inside was so cute, peaceful too.

Plus, to go with the already awesome healthy + organic vibes, they had the Foot Network on tv (muted) and Michael Buble on for music. Love much?! (Fitnessista, I feel as though between the health, organic, and Buble, this place was made for you!)

P1080493  For lunch we split the Healthy Way wrap, which had wild salmon, romaine, sprouts, tomatoes, cucumber and *ranch dressing on a whole wheat wrap. And no, I did not go near that pickle. ;) (*Interesting…in the store the menu said it was a lemon dill vinaigrette, but online it says ranch…and it was definitely a creamy dressing. Unfortunate, because that did take away a bit for me, as I’m not a ranch/ creamy dressing fan!)

Hubs and I also split sun chips

P1080495 and were also going to split this peach sweet tea…

P1080501 except she accidentally brought us an unsweetened tea at first, so this became all mine!

P1080500 Post lunch we witnessed standard Florida weather…sunny skies and pouring rain…

P1080504 on our way to Whole Foods! We headed back to pick up some more Raw Revolution bars while they’re still on sale for $1 each, and to look for herbs for my herb garden, but no dice.

Now it’s off to finish setting up my office, working on the Healthy Living Blogs website, and heading to yoga later! :) Ciao!

i always intend to try healthy way whenever we are in town but have never actually done it. there is a place in atlantic beach (in the shopping center right were a1a and atlantic blvd meet w/ the sticky fingers) called turtle island natural foods or something like that. you may have already been there. anyway, from what i remember, they sale really good, fresh salads, sandwiches, and wraps made with organic ingredients. they also have a small grocery selection with some good stuff too. it’s good for stopping by on your way to the beach!
