In honor of it being Friday (!!) and the fact that I’m just loving life and loving y’all, I thought I’d share some of my recent favorite new-to-me things I’ve tried lately.
Just to clarify, these were all things I’ve purchased with my own money.
Coconut water. Not new to me, but the O.N.E. Coconut Water "with a splash of" flavors were new to me. Both the pineapple and mango were good, albeit a little sweet, and I think they’d make great choices for a first-timer, as they’re a little more juice-like. On that note, anyone want to gift me with a lifetime supply of coconut water? Who needs a beer of the month club, can I get a coconut water of the month club?
Kombucha Wonder Drink. I bought this out of desperation when I was jonesin’ for a G.T. Synergy Kombucha a few weeks ago. Well…I’m still jonesin’. This brand would make a great Kombucha to try for a first-timer. But if you’re wanting the "real" Kombucha this tastes like Kombucha soda. Way too sweet for what I wanted.
Take my word at face value though, because when Ross had a sip he started gagging and choking. Different strokes for different folks!
I bought this Red Wood Hill Farm Apricot Mango Goat Milk Yogurt to try, because with the lower lactose in goat’s milk I wondered if it would affect my stomach differently than cow’s milk. It was good and had that subtle tang of goat’s milk, but I’m not sure if I’ll purchase it again, if solely for the fact of the two dollar plus price tag. Stomach wise, no bothers.
It was particularly flavorful with a white-fleshed nectarine and my buckwheat granola.
Another new foodie find that I eagerly scooped into my shopping cart were the two new larabar flavors I can have (I can’t have tree nuts and both the new Brownie and Carrot Cake flavors have walnuts).
Love. In the past, my favorite larabar flavor rotated between Coconut Cream Pie and Tropical Fruit Tart. Let’s just say Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is certainly in the rotation for current favorite.
The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip was good, too.

I love that you can visibly see the chips in the bar!
The only thing that made me prefer the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough over the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip was that the PBCC was a little dryer (you can visibly see a little more "crumb" in the PBCC). Good, but CCCD reigns supreme of the new flavors.
The last new thing I tried was solixir. Both the Blackberry Chamomile…
…and the Pomegranate Ginger.
Love these! Lots of flavor from the natural juices and botanicals, lots of fizz, but not a lot of sweet. Can someone stock my fridge with these, too, please?
So, here are some of the new things I’ve been trying over the past few weeks. What new foodie finds have you unearthed?

I haven’t really tried anything new lately but the flavored coconut water looks yummy!
All summer, I’ve been obsessed with Vitamin Water Zero, the lemonade flavor. It is just sweet enough without tasting overly sugary and it is SO refreshing. I love drinking them after bike rides–the added electrolytes help me avoid a headache, which is worth $1 in Florida.
definitely agree on electrolytes in FL. If I’m doing hot yoga or spending some time working out outside, I never hesitate to refuel with some gatorade, coconut water or anything like that! I’ll have to look out for the lemonade vitamin water zero! Thanks girl! And have fun tonight.
So sad that you can’t have carrot cake
It’s hands down my favorite.
I just tried The Peanut Butter Company’s White Chocolate Wonderful Peanut butter. It was purchased last Saturday and now it’s gone!
haha I have intentionally not bought the WCW PB for two reasons: 1. I’m afraid it will vanish within a week, 2. I’m afraid I’ll barely get a taste with my PB loving husband around!
All those products are ones I would love to try. Especially the Solixar, it looks like a refreshing drink!
If you get the chance to try solixir, definitely do – it’s incredibly refreshing, more so because it’s not really sweet.
oh i love seeing what new things people have been trying!
just lately i’ve become obssesssed with trader joe’s flaxseed with blueberries! SO crunchy and delish
oh man! I love so many different TJ’s products, and that sounds like no exception! Gah, Florida REALLY needs a Trader Joe’s!!!
i stil haven’t seen those larabars anywhere near me! where did you find them?
I found them at Whole Foods, but it was at least a month after they said they’d have. You can call (haha or keep calling if you’re like myself and some other Jax friends…) your local WF or health food store and request that they stock the new flavors. Good luck!
I love coconut water but have only tried Vita Coco because that’s all we have in the UK. We also don;t have Larabars anymore, which makes me sad.
I like Vita Coco, actually! I almost bought some today!
And that is sad about the larabars.
I wish I could afford to send you some, I totally would!
Aww, that’s sweet! No worries, I’ll just have to pick up a stash of Larabars next time I’m in the US. It just gives me something else to love about the States! I have absolutely no idea why they stopped selling them here though.
This is such a beautifully written post. I am so happy for you. Sometimes I think college is just too early in life, it’s so hard to know what will be best for you. Luckily you can always go back and make new decisions. We most definitely need to meet up soon!
oh, and my comment was meant for the UNF one
although larabars are quite wonderful as well!
haha this made me laugh. I had a feeling which post it was supposed to go to.
Can’t wait to meet you!!
I had both of those new Larabar flavors for the 1st time this week and fell in love. SO yummy.
Just tried the O.N.E. coconut water with a splash of pink guava this week. It’s sweet, but refreshing!
I think I might be the only one who can’t find those new Larabar flavors anywhere!
mmm, pink guava sounds good! I don’t know that I’ve ever had guava or guava-flavored anything before?
I couldn’t find the new larabars for the longest time. If you have a local Whole Foods or other health food store, you can request that they stock the new flavors. That’s what we did with the WF here, they didn’t even know about the new flavors until we told them.
Try diluting the coconut water with 1/2 water. Saves money and still helps fuel you during workouts. I love it!! Plus, it will kill the sweetness a bit. LOVE those GT’s kombucha drinks! Love goats milk yogurt but I actually love sheeps milk better. They have it at the bigger whole foods around here. It is SO amazingly creamy! Agreed about the PB bar being dry…but I thought the choco chip cookie dough was insanely sweet! I just bought a Solixir but Chris swiped it before I could try
Also, your granola looks superb!
